I have a 2020 Tundra Sr5 crewmax. I was going to Houston and hooked my phone up and got the apple car play set up. I loved it!!! It stayed on for the last 3 or 4 hours of the drive with no problems. 2 days later coming home, I have the CarPlay going and about 3 hours into the drive, it simply shuts off. I had to reconnect my phone to Bluetooth and the CarPlay wouldn’t come back until I shut the truck off and restarted. Then it only lasted about 20 mins. Any ideas?!?!?

I've had weird issue with bad/fatigued wires. Some times it is a positional thing other times it works plugged in one way on the phone but not the other. Not sure this is the issue but it's a cheap thing to try.

Just spitballing, but is the cord you're using an actual Apple cord or a knock off brand? I was using a knock off one in my Tacoma and occasionally i had connectivity issues with the Entune unit. Never had issues when I used the Apple cord.

I’ve had the same issue on occasion no matter what cord I use. It fixes itself if I restart the phone, so it may be a phone issue. Overall it’s an annoyance, but not too bad.

My wife’s Sequoia doesn’t have Apple CarPlay, and it barely works at all when the phone is plugged in. Works fine over Bluetooth though.

It was an Apple chord I was using. I didn’t try restarting the phone, but I’ll try that.

I’ll try that. I’m bad about not updating, so that may be it too. An update and a restart.

It's called CRAPPLE for a reason!!!
    It's not your truck.
But you should be used to this sorta thing by now. I'm surprised you got 2-3 hours.

Brand new truck and you need updates and reboots???
