So im looking to get a front camera installed but there are no empty switch spots on my 21 platinum. I was wondering if any platinum owners added a FRAC camera and where they placed the switch

If you have the glass break mic in that area I've read people talk about placing that behind the switches and zip tying it secure to gain an extra switch location.

mine was for a lightbar switch but like the others i just picked a spot, felt around behind to make sure i wasn't going through anything vital and drilled a hole in the dash.

As mentioned above, a lot of guys use the “Security” slot and secure the glass break sensor behind the panel. If you don’t want or need the VIM function, then you're all set with just the camera switch. If you do want the VIM function, the small round switches I provide will go anywhere that you can punch a 20mm hole. Some guys have installed in the glove box area or also in or around the center storage console.

I have a 2020 1794 with the same issue you have. I could take a picture but it just shows the same as what you have, except the sound pressure sensor has been replaced with a switch for the FRAC. This was before Lou had the Toyota style switch so I bought it elsewhere, but the sensor is pushed in behind the panel.

I have a '16 platinum. I had front camera installed, it is wired into my Kenwood DMX1057 head unit. When I slow down it comes on automatically, same with rear camera. There is a button on touch screen and a physical camera button on the head unit itself. Many ways to accomplish this.

OP -- I have a 2018, 1794 Edition. Just like the Platinum, no space for buttons. I'm installing my FRAC as I speak. This one here from @SAGE63 is where I'm also putting in the switches. Seemed like the best place that was close enough to the dash that I might not have to extend any wires. Not a lot of lateral room, so gotta drill the hole in the right place, the first time.

When you order the FRAC Harness, the baseline kit includes the round camera select switch and the round VIM switch. You can then choose to upgrade either or both switches to the OEM style. Either option works just as well.

    Hey Rey,
I want to order the boot that matches the TRD boot with red stitching, but not sure about the base (shift guide plate) to replace to make things look right. I had previously ordered a Tacoma boot but it would not work with the shift guide plate of my Tundra that is usually illuminated. Can you please give the specifics of your order to redline goods to include how to order the correct base/frame for the boot to work and look proper?
    Thanks,
    Dan
