My son runs them in his Taco to match his LED headlights and fog lights. They look good, just not my thing because I think they are played out IMHO. He tried to get me to install them but I passed on the idea.

I think those are not to be used to see with, but to be seen with.
White tends to blind more than amber, plus I think amber stands out better/more visible than white, during daytime/nighttime/rain or weather related bad time.

Of course, if you feel white is your thing, by all means, unless law prohibits it, do as you like.

"Raptor lights" cause they gain traction on raptors.
But yea, they are marker lights, usually on vehicles that are certain size over, as in width (not sure height) and to make them stand out in rear view as well as cross-vision.
But I think some people might have mistaken them for "lights" to see with, which doesn't make much sense, given where it is mounted and how high, and honestly, not that bright.

Oh for sure they are purely to be seen - I hunt so I was hoping these could stay on while my headlights are off, if that’s possible? Anyone?

I don't hunt, so this question might be stupid, are the lights meant to see with or to attract target?
But generally, you might need to wire those to a separate switch (Switch Pro or something similar) so you can tap the battery separately if your vehicle is turned off during hunting.

I would use them to see getting things ready to roll at my truck, strapping things on 4wheeler, loading my last items into pack, etc. a utility light basically.

They might work, have you considered ditch lights or something similar? Just bouncing ideas.... what you might need it for, marker light might be enough but I will be honest I don't think I have ever seen it offered in white...
