I think buying the Harrop supercharger direct from Chris could save you taxes since I didn’t pay any when I bought mine (California). It would just depend on the shop if they would be ok if you brought it directly to them.

Thats a decent number on the install. I had three verbal quotes all over $2100 when I did mine. Ended up around $2250 with the fuel pump included.

For the Maggie I was quoted from the Toyota dealer 13 hours @ $150 per hour, and they are an authorized Maggie dealer. I think I'll be very pleased with this other shops work. They seem super laid back and very knowledgeable, plus they're saying 8 hours...maybe that's ambitious? I just hope they let me at least hang out and participate a little. Probably not, but a kid can wish! =)

I think 8 hours is ambitious but let us know how it goes.

What was the old sign in the mechanics shop?
    Labor - $75 per hour.
Labor if customer watches - $100 per hour.
Labor if customer helps - $225 per hour.

P.S. Have your shop put everything they took off back inside the Harrop orange crate and SAVE IT.
Never know if and when you might need to go back to stock.

I have a local Magnuson dealer that is also an official Toyota dealer and they claim they still will honor the Toyota warranty if they install. The issue is they said the 2021 is not compatible yet for the Magnuson. (For anyone interested this is the Berkshire owned dealer in Omaha NE)

I am not sure to be honest, the guy at the dealer just mentioned it was an ECU thing. I plan on checking back in with them around Christmas and seeing if anything has changed at that time.

It's the tune. No one has cracked the code - I kind of remember that that the ECU may be like a fingerprint now.....no two are alike-I could be wrong here-no one size tune fits all to make it worthwhile for anyone to try (make money). I've been checking for two years since I purchased my 2019. Harrop Stage 1 seems the only option for us with newer trucks.

If its the ECU then its the tune. Someone mentioned the Maggie can be installed with no tune just like the Harrop. I've not seen one done that way.

No doubt, I'd think as long as you don't push much more air than the MAF/injectors can compensate for then the truck doesn't know any difference. Especially at altitude. I have a pulley on my Magnuson and at high elevation I can't even make ANY boost. If I had a stock ecu it wouldn't know any difference with the blower on it or not. Point being, if you live above 7000ft I doubt you need any kind of tune and the truck would be happy regardless of the supercharger, you just start having issues at higher airflow/lower elevations, but even that is only past a certain limit which is what the Harrop stage 1 caters to.

Whatever this forum told me to do
    well said.

I based my purchase on the following from Harrop:

To summarize, Harrop recognise a tuned option would be best. Where one does not exist, Harrop opted to test the operation of the stock tune with the Supercharger and are content that the modest boost upgrade of the Stage 1 kit works within the limits of the factory tune. The parameters of the stock tune extend satisfactorily to within the increased airflow of the upgrade as is evident by timing and knock control when combined with 98RON (93 AKI) fuel, component enrichment protection, increased shift torque reduction and the absence of modification induced MIL light from increased air flow.

Very recently, tuning has become available on some 3UR-FE ECUs so further analysis of higher output and the respective limits became possible. The results were that re-calibration of 3UR-FE Vehicles was not advantageous for the Stage 1 kit (Ø85mm pulley), as long as the Harrop Supercharger kit is Installed as supplied, completely and without further modifications.
    *end quote*

Having a bolt on unit not needing a tune AND the ability to tune it in the future was just right for me.

I installed a stage one on mine (2007 Crewmax limited 4x4) and love it. I just purchased DW650’s and in the process of getting it tuned. Mine ran pretty good on stock calibration but was a little lean for my liking! I did have better than factory exhaust though! Is the stage two pulley worth it since I have enough fuel now? Any information is greatly appreciated!

I tried answering you on your other thread:

According to Harrop Stage 2 gets you to 517HP and and 513 lb-ft torque up from 470 and 465 referencing page 3 of the Harrop tech guide thats been posted on the forums. Those are at the wheel numbers.

Revising tune as we speak! Getting better and better! I don’t have the 80mm pulley yet though but coming soon!
