agreed. I'm settled in Stage 2. I also know the next step - if there is one...is a Steve Morris built motor. 1200hp pump gas BBC.

with a transmission from this dude. https://www.youtube.com/c/PrecisionTransmission

Which would be awful nice in a stock looking 1794. it would be cheaper than a new truck - kinda.

Morning all :) I’m about to pull the trigger on some ARH LT. Does anyone know which dimension one is recommended? 1 3/4 or 1 7/8?

Good God! 1200HP?!? That would probably put the Tundra into the 9 sec territory given you can keep traction.

Whatever this forum told me to do

    I’m going by D3 tomorrow

to discuss A/F ratio. It changes slower than it did pretune. No issues

I’m sure it’s how the tune manages timing and such

it used to immediately drop to 12 with pedal. Now it moves down slower

he tried to explain. But my brain was mush

they mentioned they managed power with timing and not by merely dumping more fuel. Something like that

They will show me the data file to assure me it’s all good

    no worries

Have not picked up my truck yet, they are resolving a code that popped up today while testing (U0100).

We weren’t able to dyno in 4th gear (1:1 ratio) because the speeds would be too high for the dyno. So we did 3rd gear. It was a mustang dyno. I won’t disclose the numbers because I don’t think it’s accurate based on the mods. Once I get the truck back, I’ll do some Dragy runs to compare times:
    stage 1 no tune 5.75 sec 0-60 and 14.01 sec 1/4 mile.

I’m the mean time, enjoy this and notice my AHC squat one I exceed 60mph

Install date has been set, December 13th. Let’s hope it’s a good day and the techs got good rest over the weekend…

At the point I ordered the blower, there was no stage 2 yet. So for now, I'm just taking it one step at a time. It will have been 3 months from the date I ordered it to the install date. Once we get it installed we will start to talk tune. I kind of want to feel the progression over time to appreciate the value of paying a tuner and feeling my upgrades with the butt dyno...if that makes sense.

Im also kind of tempted to have mine tuned on the 85mm first, but I also hate to have to pay extra and go through the hassle of retuning if I go to the 80mm. It’s a tough call.

    Stage 2 A/F ratio stuff

I use a scanguage to monitor AFR

so, when I did not have a tune my AFR would almost immediately drop when i barely got into the pedal.

with stage 2 tuned, my AFR does not move hardly at all off of 14.5.

So I called D3 - all is well.

they cleaned up the tune & all the safety stuff Toyota was doing.

However, if you get into the pedal - it immediately drops to low 12's. I think the min is 11.9 on lambda?

I confirmed this on the way home.

so - homework for you fellow S/C guys:

Let us know what your AFR is doing once you get tuned.

mine stays 13-14 up until 1/3 pedal

then drops to 12 after that.

I'll get a wideband AFR gauge soon.

    Concerning Exhaust & S/C**:

Does an exhaust matter once you put a blower on?

    I'm guessing:
    the more flow the better.
True duals better than single exit?
    headers better?

has @dirtydeeds given us a dissertation on this?

**I realize there are nuances to N/A engines & proper exhaust - we ain't talking about that.

I think I recall Keith saying that once you supercharge it the catback exhaust isn’t as much of a factor. It’s going to make power no matter how bad you screw it up as far as ideal pipe diameters and such. Changing to long tube headers though will get you more power of course.

I didn’t have any fancy recording devices, but timing my Untuned stage 1 with 2.5” lift and 34s I was doing 5-5.5 seconds 0-60 in 4x4. Maybe I’ll get a dragy one of these days once my more expensive mods are done.

I know some love Dragy, but if you got the safe PRIVATE ROAD space and budget, get a Racelogic Performance box https://www.vboxmotorsport.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=46

It's WAY more accurate than Dragy, it probably pays itself if you do 4 to 5x runs when you factor in the costs of going to the track + gas

1 7/8” if you’re going for over 500whp. I think the 1 3/4” is better for NA trucks.

Thanks! I’m pretty much going with the Stage 2 route plus the LT. With 91Octane, I’m assuming it should be high 400HP to the wheels?

Yeah I would think easily, most likely over 500 but I guess it depends on the dyno. I’m not sure what on how much you lose on 91 vs 93 but I’ve seen others posted with over 500 without the headers. I think the dyno is a huge factor though.

Im going 1 3/4", mainly for fitment. The difference (between the two sizes) is negligible with little to no gains in the tundra. I will be ordering my ARH in the next few weeks and just need to find a good place to ceramic coat them.

Mine is setup so around the time it makes any boost it starts to richen out, probably conservative but I'd rather run overly rich than lean anywhere. At WOT iirc I'm at 11.7afr.

Are you planning to supercharge it at some point? I just know DAP recommends the 1 7/8 for SC.

    just killing time-

Now that we have had multiple days of cool moist air in Houston, you can tell the blower likes it and feels like it is producing more power.

it scootches sideways much easier when you do a left hand turn. yes, that is my metric.

I'm taking the beast to Toyota to install the Trans cooler. This should be fun.

I'm going by today to confirm they are ok to do it. they said no problem

it's all toyota parts. nick's kit. setrab

    D3 was swamped.
