Hey, I have exact same truck and am thinking of doing same size wheel/offset and tire size on mine. Can you tell me lift and and what you had to trim if anything at the time? Would really help, thanks!

Sure thing. I’m running 6112s set at 1.9”. Stock height rear with 5160s. Prior to getting the tires, I removed the plastic bumper trim. So I don’t know if they’d rub. Overall I’m pleased with the setup, but plan on installing Fox 2.5s, JBA UCAs and 35’s in the future.

Any reason you’re choosing JBA over SPC or Camburg? You running stock now?

Stock for now until I get everything ready to install. Trying to figure out what I want to run for the rear before I bolt everything on.

Heard nothing but good things about SPC on here, but I didn’t want to run the risk of an alignment tech messing things up with their adjustability. The JBA’s are also strong and reputable but not adjustable, so less risk of tech error when dialing in the alignment.

Camburg is high quality, and they also offer their race proven design, but too rich for my needs on those. JBA was just a more affordable option for me when I bought them last year.

Yeah, up in Wisco where I am there isn’t too many 4X4 shops, and the ones there are specialize in Jeeps of course. So I’m a little leery of the adjustable SPC as well, especially since I’ll be fine with the small lift I’m doing. Same as you if I recall.
Thanks man and if you happen to know any good mechanics up this way let me know, I’m not able to do it myself and still looking for someone I trust to touch my truck.

I’m not familiar with Wisco. Is that in Texas? Or do you mean Wisconsin?

Anyway, if I can bolt on suspension parts with regular hand tools in my apartment parking lot, any decent mechanic with a lift should be able to easily slap everything on in a few hours at most. Some shops don’t like to install customer-bought parts, though.

I’d call around and ask for a rough estimate on R&R’ing whatever parts you want installed. Then try to google your best quotes for any negative customer reviews and feedback.

But by all means post pics when you get everything on!

Yeah, Wisconsin. Gonna be a few months before any work happens in my driveway. Nice today though, got to 37 degrees.
Hahaha, yeah Wisconsin. Too cold to do anything in my driveway for a while.
And true, I’ll find someone. Shouldn’t be a problem.

I’m sure it’s in here but couldn’t find it, what are most of you doing for wheel weights? Just had new tires mounted on 17” Icons and the weights on all 4 wheels contact the calipers?

Where are they placed? From what ive seen on here the weights should be toward the face of the wheel. There is a pic somewhere here.

Jumped to 35’s on 17 inch methods. Total chaos upper control with kings all around. Body mount chop to squeeze it in.

What lift do you have where you are having to squeeze 35’s in there? Looks really awesome. Mainly because cement is the hardest most badazz color ever.

FA976F04-3CE1-4419-A3F1-188B3EE3E255.jpg The ones at my shop didn’t either. I dropped off the wheels and didn’t leave the truck. All the wheel weight fell off into the bed of the truck on the way home. Luckily I was able to see where the were placed on the wheel and separate them, reheat and restick. If two rows of weights are needed they have to be separated. The pic isn’t great but should give you an idea. If only one row of weights is needed inside lip works better. (This is a pic of the rear. The front caliper has a bit less room)

Just for your info, this is not what the tire shop ended up doing. This was my placement of their weight that fell off. The tires seem to be balanced with no problems from splitting the weights so long as they are placed in the same general orientation on the wheel.

Great thread. I knew I loved the small wheel/big rubber look, but you all sharing photos of your builds helped me dial in what I liked and how to get it. Changed the look of the truck completely. Thank you!

Here's my introduction post, and truck for the "17" wheel gallery."

BF Goodrich KM3 33x12.5x17 on Method 701 17x8.5, 0 offset. Coming from TSS 20" wheels with 60 offset.

Bilstein 5100s at middle setting, removed all mud flaps and trimmed liner plastic.
Had the 295/70R17s picked out but couldn't find them anywhere. Someone recommended these wider ones, and I like them a lot. Probably had to trim more plastic than I would have with the 295s, but no big deal.
On paper, only added 2lbs per corner.
