Hello all - I am new to the forum and just bought a 2018 CrewMax Limited with some aftermarket bumpers (Fab Fours Premium). This front bumper has an upper bracket that impedes my sensor (from time to time...not all the time) and prevents my cruise control from operating.

Can I relocate the sensor?...appears its behind the Toyota logo in the front grill

Two things: first, if you hold in your cruise control button, it will disable the TSS feature and allow cruise to work normally with no radar. Try that first. Second, I did move my TSS sensor from behind the "T" symbol because I put on a TRD Pro grill. I used AJT's relocation bracket (which moved it down about 4 inches or so ) and it's been perfect for 2 years now. I have an 2018 Limited TRD Off Road. Hope that helps.

If anything is impeding the view of the sensor and it is turning itself off, you won’t be able to manually turn it off. You can only manually turn it off with cruise when it is properly functioning. You need to get a different setup that doesn’t block the sensor.

When I first got my truck I was on a trip to GA from MD and it was raining really hard, the my TSS light came on and was not able to use Dynamic Radar cruise, and it also disables some other crap that shows up in yellow on the dash. After it stopped raining, the lights did not go out. While I still had the warnings, I was able to use regular cruise control but not Dynamic Radar CC. The sensor had issues but regular CC still worked. I don't think the old regular CC function has anything to do with the TSS except when using DRCC. I could be wrong, but it worked fine for me, and this happened a few times, generally when the weather was crap. The OP can try it and see if it works for him, if it doesn't work he can also try relocating the TSS either with a homemade bracket or an aftermarket one.

There are a few ways to relocated the sensor. As previously mentioned there are kits that will do it, but @2020Platinum also moved his to the bottom of his grille and has good results. He's even got a youtube video on it (and other mods for the truck), so I'd check that out.

Like Jim said, pics will help the forum help you. ;)

Not sure of your exact setup and bumper, but here’s the video of where I relocated the TSS...it’s been several months now and no issues at all...few of my viewers have done it as well and no reports of any problems whatsoever...hope it helps!
