Wife and I are in the market for a camper. Just the two of us and the dogs. We will occasionally have our youngest daughter with us but she likes to tent camp. We have had many campers in the past - I have bought broken / fixer uppers, renovated them, used them for a season or two and flipped them. For the past few years we have rented campers to see what we wanted. They are NOT cheap to rent. We have rented an airliner a frame (too small), a mini max (it was nice….) and this year a forest rover ozark (too much for us).

Wife has been looking at the rpods. Specifically the rpod 180 with the “full” bath. Local rv dealer has a used 2017 for sale which seems to be in great shape. I have dealt with them on multiple purchases, rentals and services. I trust them.

Anything rpod owners or ones that have used them have to offer? We would probably want the screen room attachment as well but that can wait.

I got Rpod mixed up with Nucamp which are built in Sugarcreek Oh. Unfortunately Rpods are part of the Forest River conglomerate and should be expected to be similar in quality to the rest of Elkhart products.

I have a Gulfstream which being a privately held company is a fraction of a step above rest of Elkhart quality and that's not saying much.

Edit.....In the voice of the famous Gilda Radnor, Nevermind. I just checked and Forest River started making Rpods in 2021 so you should be good there.

As long as you're handy and ready/willing to fix the low build quality that impacts most affordable campers, the R-pods have good layouts.

Yes I am pretty handy with campers and understand the nuance of them. Replace floors, sides, roofs…..basic renovations to plumbing tear outs and rerouting to complete rebuilds. Going to be fun to take off and get away for a couple days here and there.

If you're that capable I'd say an R-Pod is a great platform. I was eyeing them before going the RTT route, but I am not a handy man.
