Looking at upgrading to extended travel coilovers w/adjusters. Truck is a daily driver/broverlander/dirtbike hauler. Has the Toytec/eibach setup on it now. Want to be able to handle everything from fire roads to stuff like Sedona trails and The Maze. I was looking at the Elkas, but it's a 3 month wait. I can get the ADS setup from Matt at @M C M much sooner (and ADS is awesome and so is MCM by all accounts).

Anybody running the "stock length" ADS rear shock with no or a small lift or Icon Rxt leafs or anything like that? Are you happy with the setup? Does it feel like the shocks top out or are limiting the droop travel?

I have the ADS extended travel rears without adjusters and I have been trying to figure this out as well. I am planning to stay on stock leaf with whatever block lift it has had since I bought the truck until I can make up my mind on which deavers are best for me. My fender to center of hub measurements are 25 7/8 and 25 5/8 ish. I do not know how that compares to stock but I am going to be installing the extended travel rears in a week or two.

I am hoping that it works with my current setup, but I don't think ADS really makes stock length rears, Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road told me that ADS typically builds in as much travel as they can IIRC.

They're not really stock length, they're the stock compressed length and a little more travel, like most aftermarket shocks. The deaver spec shocks have a longer compressed length than stock, so if you run them without the thicker deaver spring (or a block in your case) the shock will bottom out, but you get more droop travel. ADS doesn't list shock lengths anywhere unfortunately, but I called them and talked to one of the guys and that was how he explained it.

That's what I figured. Thank you for clarifying, I am hoping my springs still have enough arch to them to work well enough until I can get deavers shipped. I think they should work with my current setup for the time being but only time will tell if that is true or not.

I do that a lot of the time. You look at the deavers and they loose arch so during fishing season when I’m towing the stock springs go back in. Works fine. Haven’t bottomed them out. You can’t drive to much like an idiot with stock springs regardless or you’ll hit the load leaf and it’ll launch the back end anyway.
