A friend in my town recently bought a 2006 FGT DC 4x4 with 100k miles with 100k miles on CoPart auction but soon found out that it has significant frame damage. It lived mostly in Connecticut. He wants to ditch this one and get a solid one.

I've seen recent posts on here for ads for solid FGTs but I cannot find them now. I'm wondering if anyone has saved Craigslist or FB marketplace posts for rust free FGTs under $10k. I am also looking through cargurus, FBM, and CL.

Just check FB marketplace. I didn't look closely at them because I'm not in the market, but every day I see clean (ish) first gens around the Montana/Idaho/Utah/Wyoming area. They've often 200,000+ miles, but usually very clean.

This is just today. Obviously the best ones don't last long. There's a sweet spot when you're looking for less than $10,000 and a non-rusty frame. It's going to be a western/southern truck, and it's going to have over 200,000 miles. But those tend to come up fairly regularly. Of course your friend would have to travel.

My truck lived in Boise all its life, had 225,000 miles and one owner (kind of). Very, very superficial rust. What you'd expect on a 20+ year-old truck that was well taken care of and lived in the dry west. It was $10,000.
