    Gents,

    I recently bought a used 2020 Tundra DC, Limited w/ 78K miles.

I had her fully inspected by an independent shop which was an excellent idea. Carmax is now going to cover some $4300.oo repairs to safety items, full new alignment, body bumper R/R, New front brakes rotors pads.

I'm having to maintain the routines, oil trans, R/E fluid changes... yada yada.

I had the transmission fluid changed only. Not the whole enchilada.

    Questions come up and I need some help & quality answers , please . . . .

    What's a typical oil / filter change to a tranny costs ?

IS THERE ANY .... issues to change the fluid to a amsoil brand ?

    ...

Hi Jim, welcome to the forum. Here's generally what I use:

Oil: Pennzoil 5w-30 ultra platinum (very comparable to amsoil signature, fraction of cost, $90 for 15 quarts)
    Filter: Toyota OE
Transmission: Toyota WS, OE (one of the few fluids car care nut recommends this oil remain OE only)
Front Differential: Amsoil Severe Gear Oil 75w-90
Rear Differential: Amsoil Severe Gear Oil 75w-90
    Transfer Case: 75w Ravenoil
Coolant: Toyota OE (have not replaced yet, hear you need to use the pink stuff from Toyota)

Amsoil is a great brand and provides a quality product. But I found it to be unnecessarily costly when there are equal alternatives for much less. And you can see I do use Amsoil for certain things.
