I installed the unit from 12Volt Solutions. Installation was a breeze, utilizes factory key/keyfob so NO extra fobs. Haven't had any issues.

I second 12Volt Solutions. Have had mine for over a year. Zero issues, easy to install and no extra key FOB. One recommendation though. I think they come pre-programmed for 12 mins of run time before it shuts off. I had them program mine for 30 mins.

I like the idea of 12Volt Solutions...but I'm cautious to the range of the remote...That's where all other aftermarkets win...especially CompuStar

Can't go wrong with Compustar or Viper. Personally run the Compustar 4900S and the range is awesome. If going with the tech12volts or 12voltsolutions kits I would spring for the app which basically gives you unlimited range. Range with the OEM fob is not ideal for most remote start situations.

You the man. I looked for it and didn't see it. Sorry.

He will program every how you want it. He sends an message to confirm when you buy. At least, that is what he did for me. There are some options on certain models that are not on others.

I love mine. Its more now. I think I gave $200 even for mine a couple of years ago.

I've had a Fortin Evo One on 2 Tundras (2014 and 2016) with a minor issue. The issue was it was setup for a different model (settings). I paid about $200 for the kit and the programmer. They also make a harness that makes it plug n play with the exception of a wire tap. You can use the original key fob (3x lock or lock, unlock, lock) extended range fobs are also compatible. I have had no need to use the extended range fobs.

That's what I liked about anderson programming it for you. I believe most people that had problems with the fortin was due to programming.

I found that holding the unlock button down for 3 to 4 seconds works just like the 3 clicks and its much easier to do with my fat thumbs and old age.

12volt remote start was my choice under the Tundra group buy. The instructions and YouTube video were a breeze to help in the install. It took longer to zip tie everything. Good luck

This is why i do most of my own work, some places charge an outrages amount of money for something simple as a lot of kits are now becoming Plug n Play. For that price you can install Fortin EVO One with the Thar-ONE-Toy7 T-harness and a RF kit and still be under the cost of that.

The Fortin Evo One and the Carlink ASCL6 are a great pair. The ASCL6 works connects via 4G LTE and allows you to start your truck via an app on your phone.
I have this one from StartX. It's a Fortin EVO One with his own harness. 0 splicing.

    https://smile.amazon.com/Start-X-Re...keywords=start+x+tundra&qid=1570763481&sr=8-4

Also, there is one ASCL6 on Amazon right now for $109.00. I've seen it as low as $90.00

    https://smile.amazon.com/Audiovox-A...f=sr_1_1?keywords=ascl6&qid=1570763543&sr=8-1

Jump on it, that's a good deal.

I agree on the 12volts kit. I've had mine for over a year now without any issues. I also use the factory key fob and have had zero issues with starting it in the drive and I'm in the house. When I'm in the parking lot, I swear I gave longer range than used too, because I can start it over 200 feet away. There are add on kits as well if you need to start from a further distance as well.

I have the 12voltsolutions remote starter. Took less than an hour to install and works great. I got that one because I didn’t want to get involved with carrying a second fob in my pocket. Range is obviously that of the stock remote fob, which for me is about 90 to 100 feet. I might get the Wi-Fi module so I can have unlimited starting distance for those times that I need it.

Just pulled the trigger on a 12 volt system. Glad I came across the thread. It’s that time of year.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't most long range modules have a yearly re-occurring subscription fee?

The last TUNDRA remote start group we will ever do is going on right now . This will save you almost 100 dollars from our normal price.
Its covers 2010 gkey only to 2017 and 2018 and 2019 H key . 199.99 shipped. No cutting except on 18 and 19 modules and they require 1 wire be cut. These work off of your factory remotes . We have sold 1000s of these and know them on the Tundra better than anyone . We will not start shipping until the first 50 are ordered so usually about a week to start shipping but sometimes 2 . This will be the cheapest you will ever see this plug n play remote starts . We also have the Carlink modules on group as well and that pricing is adjusted in the same listing . its 135 and that includes the first year of service. The Carlinks will be priced at 189 after this group is over but you can add it later if you want .
video of install in 2015 which is the same for 2010 gkey to 2017 .
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrGw_-WEE4g
2018 and 19 only difference will be you do not have to go to passenger side at all and there is 1 TPMS wire you have to cut and connect but it is very easy as well and we do have a video for it also .
Plenty of customers on here have them . buy yours here

I have a couple tech questions for you. Still getting used to using the system.

    1) If you remote start and unlock the doors, but do not put the key into the ignition. Does the engine start time out and turn off?

    2) If you remote start and do not unlock the doors. Does the engine time out and turn off?

    Thanks for the support!
