    Hi everyone,

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on one of JRT systems but am torn between the HertzK170 or the upgrade K165....Can anyone that has either one of these offer some insight. I've already read the reviews on both of them so just looking at little more personalized opinions.

    Thanks

I've got the K170's and I love them. Just make sure (if you decide to go with them in front and back) that you wire the rear door tweeters in series with the rear speakers, as the rear door tweeters are driven by the head unit directly, whereas everything else is driven by the amp. As such (assuming you're replacing the amp), everything *but* the rear door tweeters will be amplified, and it'll sound as if *all* treble is up front.

Kyle, both the 165's and the K170's are the same rated units, just slight dimension differences.
I have a 2019 Tundra complete package with K170's and JBL Club A5505 Amp, running the factory head unit and its beautiful.
Just like Kung stated, make sure to follow Taylor's installation and connection instructions to a "T".
AND Paint the speaker mount brackets prior to installation so they arent visible thru the speaker grilles.......

You are doing a great thing following Taylor's Audio recommendations & recipe for components that function perfectly together for your budget, taste and needs.

Yep, you'll be impressed, its a very well designed system. There is little difference between the 170's and 165's, other than the number of holes to mount the speaker. But the sound quality of the designed system is hard to beat, every instrument shines.

You didn't state whether you have the JBL premium or not, which will make a difference in wiring. With the JBL no speakers are running off of the head unit.
