Hi, I have had a leaking steering rack and have top up the reservoir, and use the AT205. I am based in Dubai, so shipping a heavy item, which already is expensive is something I am trying to avoid.

I plan to remove existing steering rack, and have it rebuilt.

Anyone have experience with this, I may not rebuild it, but give to a transmission rebuilder or engine builder here in Dubai that has the skills. Also upgrade the steering rack mount bushings.

I know there is detailed thread on removal here by removing the front diff, but I have seen another method on YouTube here https://youtu.be/ZksPnX7eUHU?si=eQZT6eosLEFQOG9J which unbolt the hydraulic lines and the gear, and then remove it from passenger side.
Then reinstall is slide the repaired or replacement steering rack back, and then bolt the steering gear and hydraulic lines.

This can be done without the removal of front diff, cv axles, and also the knuckle, just the upgraded baseplate, and wheels need to removed on jack stands.

Anyone try this method of just removing the steering rack by unbolting the steering gear and hydraulic lines, is it easy to install back, and will not cause with steering wheel or Turning radius.

I plan to ofcourse lock the steering wheel and wrap the seat belt around the steering wheel, and discoinect the battery.
