    Hey guys,

really just joined here to read about the Tundras, good or bad. I currently have a Ram, and will be in the market for another truck shortly. Just seeing what is out there. A friend is telling me how good his Tundra is, just trying to see what others are saying. Thanks

I drive a RAM 1500 for work, just the basic package. I just bought a '17 Tundra in August and it is the first truck I've ever owned, traded my '11 4Runner in for it.

I don't have a lot of technical knowledge about these trucks, but all I can say is these trucks are amazing in my opinion. So much power, you can feel it. They look amazing and are very dependable. The RAM feels a little more "nimbly bimbly" to me lol. The Tundra just feels like a beast.

    Welcome from TX!

    Welcome from Oregon!
I spent a solid year looking at Rams and Tundras.
After having test driven both numerous times I decided on my 2012 Tundra used at 85k miles but a great truck.
You won’t be disappointed if you switch.

Welcome! I think we joined at just about the same time.

I made the switch from Chevy, and I'm liking the move so far.

Thanks Guys, just trying to learn the different levels of Tundras, what is available on what truck. I have a 2011 Big Horn extended cab, with a 6ft something box ram, 5.7 hemi, 4x4. I bought it used, with 60,000 miles, now has 90,000, I dont drive it allot. But, my wife likes the interior so I need to find something simliar. Tow an open car trailer with a 3000lb car, truck does great. Im just used to leaf springs, not much of a coil spring guy, but it is what it is. My work truck is a F350 crewcab 4x4 gas motor. Does good, but gets 14 mpg, loaded, unloaded, it doesnt matter. Really wanted a truck with an 8ft bed, just because.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! It depends on what you're looking for. The Tundra is a solid 1/2 ton truck that simply cannot be beat with regards to reliability/dependability. It doesn't quite have the published payload or towing capacity of other brands, but I personally think this is Toyota being conservative. That's part of reliability - don't push it to the edge. I personally like the interior better than the domestics. Some of the bells and whistles I've seen on the others? I don't miss them at all. I also think you get a lot more for your money with Toyota. Yes, the base model is more expensive than the base models of the Big 3, but the base model includes of TON of features, standard, that you have to pay extra for in other brands. The top trim levels, Platinum and 1794, actually cost less than a comparably equipped Ford, GM, or Dodge product. I discovered this when doing my comparisons. I just bought mine earlier this year so it's all still pretty fresh in my mind.
