    Hello all! I'm Joe and hail from Black Forest, CO. I purchased a 2017 Tundra Limited in the only color that matters....white. Haha! My other car, an Audi, is also white.

    Prior to purchasing the Tundra, my wife and I test drove the following trucks (in order):

    1) GMC Sierra (5.3L) - I thought the 5.3L was a dog, but otherwise liked the truck. I didn't get an opportunity to drive the 6.2L, but they wouldn't come down on price, so it was taken off the list.

    2) Ford F150 Lariat (3.5L EcoBoost) - I loved the 3.5L and the tech features, but it didn't seem very well built. My wife hated this truck. One of the dealers I worked with seemed sleazy to me, so this was also off the list.

    3) Toyota Tundra Limited Crewmax (5.7L) - This truck was low on my list until I went to test drive one. Magazine reviews consistently had this truck rated the lowest stating how dated it is. However, I was shocked when sitting in a Platinum for the first time. It was love at first sight. I then test drove a Limited and preferred it over the Platinum. It had everything I wanted and needed in a truck to tow a 2500 pound boat. The build quality seemed to be several cuts above the other truck manufacturer's and more comparable to more expensive cars I've owned. The quality of materials isn't great (i.e. a lot of hard plastic), but it just seemed to be more solid and assembled better. I bought it the next day.

    4) Ram 1500 (5.7L) - I owned a 2012 Ram 1500 Sport with every option known to man. I hated this truck. It wasn't until weeks after I bought it that I noticed the truck bed appeared to be about 1.5" off center of the cab. After closer inspection and a trip to the dealer, it was determined the cab was mounted crooked. This didn't affect function, but it bothered me. The paint quality, as I also noticed later, was the worst I've ever seen or experienced on a vehicle. I had some other problems in 2 years of ownership that I eventually traded it in.

    5) Nissan Titan XD - Too damn ugly to even consider. Sorry Titan lovers.

    My days of heavily modding vehicles are pretty much over. It's not worth the trouble or expense to me anymore. However, I did add a LineX spray-in bed liner, Truxedo Lo Pro tonneau cover, and am waiting for a set of Go Rhino RB10's to arrive. I may add the ESP rear seat storage and the TRD rear sway bar in the near future.

    Thanks for the great forum! I've been on here a ton already researching things about the Tundra.
