Ok. I'm trying to get the timing thing right. In this process the timing is obviously still wrong and trans is not shifting correctly or in neutral. Is this still timing related? Or have I screwed something else up?

If you’re talking about the transfer case actuator, hook up the electrical to it without out it screwed back in, turn your key on. Switch from 2wd to 4hi then back to 2wd and it set the actuator gears in the correct spot. Use a butter knife or floss to hold them
    In place while reinstalling.
