Does anyone have any recommendation on an aftermarket radio for a 2014 Tundra. Any android radio that is not a Tesla Style radio. That is what I have now and I want to replace it. Looking for one that can connect to my hotspot and play youtube on the radio.

I got the Tesla radio when it first came out, gen 1, hated it, sold it a week later, now i have a Eonon 10.1, not much better, but I can play movies on my headrest tvs through it, where I couldn't with the tesla. I'm ready to go kenwood.

What do you mean by not much better? I was looking into getting that one too.

Sound quality was better with the tesla, it's slow at boot up, it's not plug and play, have to get a wiring harness dash kit, and back up camera adapter. Sucks in cold weather. I'm going kenwood with maestro kit, shows all vehicle info on it

And with the kenwood, you can play youtube without having to mirror your phone?

Yeah I was looking at various models, but the 9905s stood out. With the maestro kit you can get more info like tpms and other stuff

Ill be honest, it does look nice. But I was hoping to have better graphics while watching YouTube on it. I was just watching a video on it. Looked a but low quality screen and laggy.

It is, the touchscreen isn't the greatest either. I had to use a wiring harness and cut off theirs and match up the wires. Then for the steering wheel controls I had to cut their plug off and tap the tundras wiring harness. Nothing was plug and play.

Are you still going for the kenwood then? Would you recommend the eonon 10.1?

I am eventually going to get a kenwood. Right now it serves it's purpose, I have a hard drive attached to it to play movies for the kids on my headrest tvs, something the tesla unit doesn't do. You need a separate dvd player for the tesla to play on headrest tvs. I can't get it to work anymore with the eonon obd adapter.

I read somewhere that the eonon OBD doesnt work very well and so others just got another bluetooth odb attached.

9905s has the highest resolution screen on the market as of late last year. I have this unit and it is crystal clear and no lag at all.

How far does it stick out? I might end up getting that. Have you had any other problems with it?

I was looking for something that you can customize and be able to do more without any restriction.

I'll get you a side pic today, completely forgot. Thing I hate now is hitting bumps makes the screen settle down and it's rubbing on the dash kit. There isn't much room for adjustment, but if you don't recess it like you're supposed too in the dash and have it stick out little farther you'd be able to move the screen around more.

My main concern is the steering column or my hand would hit the screen/radio while shifting gears or putting it on park

Did you need a can bus or a steering wheel control interface?

No, had to find the right wires in the stock harness and tap the 2 wires from the radio into them for steering wheel controls. This unit is not plug and play.

I had to use this to get the back up camera to work

Hows the boot up time when you turn your truck on? Also does it stick out more than 2.5 inches?

I'll get you a couple pics tonight, been sick. It's slow. The good thing though if you put the truck in reverse while it's loading, the camera turns on. The one pic posted above looks great. The eonon is hard to see during sunny days, I have the brightness turned all the way up

No rush. Just want to get as much info on it as much as possible before pulling the trigger on buying this unit. Hope you feel better. Have you had any issues with it other than slow boot, glare, the obd, and the wiring?

From the time I turn my key on, until the screen becomes usable is over 30 seconds.

Starting to think xtrons 7in screen is going to be better. Faster boot up time but just smaller.
