I recently purchased a 2007 Toyota tundra SR5 with the 5.7 L V8. Absolutely love the truck and this is my first Toyota. It came with the amp research running boards Which were working just fine until recently. Now the driver side board does not work properly and makes a very annoying squealing sound every time I open the door. I have tried troubleshooting it by looking for the reset button and also pulling out the hole connection, but it is yielded no results. The model that I have Is the older model and it is a – 04 And the numbers and letters that have the star on them are the number one in the letter G. Not sure if that matters, but I just wanted to put everything out there. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could fix this problem without having to buy the new power module I am on a strict budget? TIA

Take the motors off and clean/ lube them. Doesn’t hurt to call AMP, mine were 2 days out of warranty and they sent me 2 brand new motors and 2 boards for free…. With no receipt

I would assume there would be no warranty as this is the older module and it’s on an 07 but I’ll give it a try. Also I will clean the motors. Appreciate your response and advice.

Any noise is going to be coming from the motors or the hinges. In Idaho/ montana winters I used to spray them down with some sort of special live every few months. The motors need to be cleaned and lubed regularly as well

I had the control module go out and AMP sent me a replacement....i'm pretty sure i was either days before or days after the warranty expire(d). Worth giving them a call and asking for "advice" and see if they will help you out.
