I just had the front windshield tinted with a very mild tint to block heat... Basically a visibility tint. But does block UV, etc... they removed the mirror and put back on. As far as I know they did not do any other wiring or related to cause this.

My a/c was working normally on the way there. When they were done, the ac works sitting in park. I put it in gear, and sit still the ac stops cooling. Driving no change. Pull over, in park only, works fine again.

The ambient outside temp sensor is reading from 35F to 45F driving today after the ac stopped working. As far as a I know it was reading correctly this morning. I know prior to today it has been.

The bubble sensor on the dash, is it only a light sensor? Is it somehow related, as in UV/Sunlight being blocked by the windshield tint.

I also noticed there is a clicking on and off from the front of the engine that is new. AC clutch?

    Anyone have any thoughts?

It seems like the window tint is related, but that is an assumption.

    Solar sensor maybe?

I assume your ambient temp is off, you didn't mention the real outside temp. Just the range it was showing. Any other symptoms, parts of the truck not working correctly?

Yeah, I forgot to list that. It was around 85. Fast forward, somewhere in reading on posts on here someone said they have had weird issues with a slight voltage drop before a battery quits. I was in the 3-4 year range and replaced my battery. Problem solved! odd...

Sucks when things happen at such a coincidental time, but glad that's all it was and was figured out before you pulled the tint back off!!!

Well here it is Oct 2024 and I got my windshield tinted and gusse what exactly same problem. Ambient temp reads 46 degrees I'm in el paso real temp 98. And ac will not blow cold. So I read the post at the top and disconnected my battery and hooked it back up fixed temp issues. Still had ac issue It would only blow cold in park. Pulled the relay for mag clutch( Ac compressor) tapped it on the ground and it seems to be working fine now. Crazy issues I think they left the key on at the tint shop and ran my battery down which caused the computer to be reset.
