I was quoted an out the door price of $45k for a 2020 SR5 4WD with SR5 upgrade package and Truck Sport Series Off-Road Sp Ed Pkg - Black. I am ready to bite the bullet and go for it. Edmunds, kbb, and Truecar say it's an excellent deal. But y'all are the real experts! What do y'all think?

    MSRP: $49,200
    Dealer Advertised Price: $44,800
    Initial offer: $43,495
    Their "final" quote: $41,400

    Thanks in advance!

In all honesty it’s difficult to say if you are getting a good deal because there are many variables included in the OTD price. State sales tax, dealership fees, etc etc. Knowing the final price of the vehicle and the MSRP of that particular vehicle is the most accurate number to make a comparison. But ultimately if you love the vehicle just get it! Life is too short! In my opinion spending months to get the very best deal is costing you long term... There is ALWAYS a better deal so if the dealership is fair and is treating you right just do it.

^Good advice. Post the details like MSRP, discounted price (before taxes and fees) for a better breakdown on the deal.

Was that their first quote or is it after negotiation. Never take their first quote as a good deal. There is always room for negotiation. I always get 10 to 12% off from where we started.
But, $45k OTD doesn't sound bad.

I watch the inventories around where I live - they’re getting low and you’ve got the 2021 model year coming up so I’m sure dealers are wanting to move cars and trucks.

    Sounds like a fair deal.
Do you have a link to the dealership so we can see the Tundra?

49k for an SR5 is way overpriced. Also keep in mind the 2021 are about to come out so you should be able to get that price down. SR5 probably looking at 36k-38k OTD just my opinion

One factor that conflicts with this In today’s market is the supply issue. Depending on her market, there could be limited supply for sale keeping prices up

I can't seem to find an SR5 Crewmax with SR5 upgrade and TSS Package at that price point :(. And I've searched/contacted dealers within a 500 mile radius. Or maybe I just haven't looked hard enough.

Looks like a pretty good deal to me...there is always someone with a better deal? If you are happy with it and really like the truck then go for it...of course it is Black, which is the best color ;)

Where are you located? Checked volume dealers? Do you have the window sticker - I agree $49k sticker price for an SR5 is pricey - their might be some “dealer add ons” raising the price.

(Dealer add on = pure profit for the dealer)

That’s a killer deal. That Prices for a SR5 crewmax with upgrade package and convenience package doesn’t exist within 500 miles radius in Utah.

    Hi,

I say no until you share where the extra 3600 for the out the door is coming from when compared to the final quote of 41,400? Is that taxes? We also need to know that they aren't robbing you on your trade or adding on ridiculous amounts of crap like extra warranties and fabric protection etc (make sure they don't before you sign anything). KBB and those sights are crap, and they cater to dealerships and not the consumer. As am example I recently traded my 19 tundra in and KBB gave it a value of 29K which is absolute BS (that's in excellent condition and it had 10K miles), needless to say that would have been highway robbery. I got 33,500 for it in trade and paid 41,500 out the door for my TRD off road with a bed liner.

Long story short, without knowing what they are giving you for your trade, if you have one, we really can't truly answer the question. In additional a lot of people don't realize the place dealerships make the most money isn't in the showroom... it's in the finance office. I would apply to your local bank or credit union to secure a low interest loan (below 3% if you have decent credit) before even hitting the finance office. They will also try and sell you, as previously mentioned, all sorts of crap you don't need. Make sure they don't add any of that to the final paperwork!! So if you give us the added info, not nessesarly the financial portion, but if you have a trade and how much they are giving you that would help. The best way to find your trade in value is to go to different dealership websites and see what they are actually selling similar used cars for and minus 1500 and that is where you want to be, 2000 max.

Also find out why the vehicle is so high. I just bought (in the USA) a TRD Off road and it had an MSRP of 45,600. Does this one have extra options? Make sure they didn't sneak on some bullshit charge like window etching.

Lots of good points made here. Seems like you have a pretty decent deal, what part of the country are you in since that does play a factor? I know my 2018 had an msrp of around 51k with all the options and everything and my out the door was 44k
If you like the truck, go for it! It won't let you down and it will hold onto its value

Thanks so much. I am not trading my car. I already have financing lined up with my CU, low interest at 2.9%. This will be my 3rd auto purchase - I keep my cars for a long time. I've always said no to extended warranties, vehucle.orotection, and whate er add ons the dealership offers.

The $45k out the door price includes tax, licensing, etc. No other fees included.

Just wondering why yours is stickered at 2.5K more than mine was? I think it's a good deal, but I would look into why the sticker is so high, if you haven't already. Did they add a bed liner and steps etc?

It has spray on bed liner, skid resistor bed liner with deck rail system, SR5 Upgrade, and the TSS Off Road package includes:

Matte Black Wheels and All Terrain Tire Upgrade,
    5" Black Oval Step Tubes
    All-Weather Liners
    TSS Off-Road Bed Decal
    Matte Black Badge Overlays.

I believe TSS off road package is only available in the Gulf states region.

....another thing to consider is that Texas is having a decent COVID flareup which could shut down the San Antonio plant again, "possibly" and cause another supply and demand issue. I think @dalluyon has negotiated a decent deal in my opinion all things considered.
