Right, why didn’t I think of that too!!?…. So I’ll try those steps tomorrow. I should be on that same level of drunkenness to figure it out.

    here’s to the 4th!

UPDATE: made a quick video of the settings. If I’m missing it, I’ll owe you a beer.
I am also using the ODB2 connector which I believe is just a single brown wire. The yellow/red twisted wire from the connector is not used.

Yes, just the brown wire. In your video after you hit the setting icon you went to the gauges option, try the Maestro option. I know that your 2018 has slightly different electrical set-up than my 2014, but they should be close enough. I might have to go screw with mine as I don't recall the exact steps.

So I have that issue as well with the trans temp greyed out. Just a thought here but since the trans cooler was eliminated after 2016 is there even a temp sensor in the trans at all?? Has anyone with a post 2016 been able to pull up trans temp with a ODB2 device?

Thank you sir for that info:thumbsup:. Because of my reverse camera issues, Trail Grid Pro is sending me another wiring harness...maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to access the trans temp info once I install the new one :fingerscrossed:

I have intermittent rear camera issues…I’m not sure its not just a connection that needs reseated, but haven’t taken the time to pull the whole thing back out again.

i did not use the ODB connector from the maestro kit - it’s integrated directly into the main wiring in the newer trucks. It also requires going into the head unit settings under the maestro section and validating PIDS or something like that (can’t remember exactly).

Did you have to take it out and check the connections or was it the ODB connector from the maestro that worked?

I did what Rainman suggested. I went into setup, went to the gauges area, hit settings button in the top right corner and find maestro and hunt around in there until you find “validate PIDs” tap on that and wait until it finishes….few seconds and you should be able to choose it in the “select gauges” tab

I have been so happy with my sound I never looked at the gauges until now, that and I do not drive it much. Got them all set up and the tranny is working. Thanks @RainMan_PNW!

Wondering if there is a way to use a ODB2 scanner tool or if I need to take her into the stealership to have them look up the ODB2 codes on mine.
Only thing left I can think of is disconnecting the battery for a few min to reset everything...

This maybe an option. Do a master reset on your Maestro. Trailgrid pro sent me these instructions when I was troubleshooting the backup camera issues...it did not help that but maybe it would help your issue???

To perform a master reset for your Maestro through the Alpine head unit, please watch the second half of this video and follow the instructions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krWpmmkBBpI

    Steps to begin reset process:

    (1) Turn on your vehicles accessory power, or start the vehicle.
    (2) Enable parking brake to access head unit setup menu.
    (3) Navigate through your head unit setup menu:
Setup - Function - Factory Audio - Maestro Setup - Maestro Settings - Maestro Module - Maestro Master Reset - Are you sure? Yes
    (4) Once the Reset is complete, turn your vehicle off for a few minutes, then power it back on.

I’ve done that once but doesn’t hurt to try again…. Fangers crossed this time

EDIT: Actually, just watched the video, I have not done the hard reset (Master reset)... I have done the soft reset, which is what the 4 steps you mentioned are.

Trailgrid sent me a similar email that matches your info..
    SOFT RESET
    1. Turn on your vehicles accessory power, or start the vehicle.
    2. Enable parking brake to access head unit setup menu.
    3. Navigate through your head unit setup menu:
    4. Setup - Function - Factory Audio - Maestro Setup - Maestro Settings - Maestro Module - Maestro Master Reset - Are you sure? Yes
    5. Once the Reset is complete, turn your vehicle off for a few minutes, then power it back on.
    6. Turn the vehicle to accessory power and allow about 5 minutes before pressing any inputs or your head unit.
    7. After about 5 minutes, start your vehicle and test your system.

    ---------------
    HARD RESET
    1. To perform a master reset on the maestro module, Turn the key to the OFF position, then disconnect all connectors from the module.
    2. Press and hold the module’s programming button and connect all the connectors back to the module. Wait, the module’s LED will flash RED rapidly (this may take up to 10 seconds).
    3. Release the programming button. Wait, the LED will turn solid GREEN for 2 seconds to show the reset was successful.
    4. After performing the reset procedure, turn your vehicle to accessory power and wait about 5 minutes before starting your vehicle and testing your system.

Found out some info on the transmission sensor not showing...
Ended up contacting iDatalink (866-427-2999) and spoke with one of their techs.

2 weeks ago, version 4.8 was released, which corrects and offers the transmission sensor to the maestro RR.
Then called trailgridpro back so they could look up what version was flashed.... it was v4.7

So, while I am installing the hdmi/usb port on the back of the center console (swapping out the cigarette lighter since the kids have finally kicked that habit), I will pull the RR and reflash it and reconfigure for the options needed and will see if that really does resolve the issue.
Will also be adding in the e-brake bypass I picked up.

Interesting, because I'm definitely on a firmware older than 4.8 and still get the transmission temp to show on mine.

that is the part that trips me up.. why some of you do not experience this issue and others (me) do.
good thing is, the issue has been acknowledged by iDatalink so they are willing to work with us to resolve it.... should v4.8 not do anything.

next time I chat with them I will ask for the release notes to see what else was updated/corrected.

I would definitely consider bypassing the OEM amplifier and powering the speakers via the head unit.

so GREAT news. v4.8 resolved my issue.
    I have trans temp now.
    upload_2024-7-11_17-5-32.png

And was able to hook up the ebrake bypass, which I noticed disabled any of the parking assist functions in the maestro.
The setting that allows you to select how to engage "settings" by either selecting eBrake, Park, or something else mode I can't recall...
Do not care to have lost those as settings are active all the time.

Also got the 6' hdmi/usb cable extension installed, this was a direct fit to the cigarette lighter... just popped it out and popped this in.
The power I left hanging in the console... which in hindsight I might be back in there to tape it up. Future mode that will use that will be the inductive charging plate on the console lid if I ever pull the trigger on that.

Just need to test out the hdmi with a firestick, chomecast, or psswitch
    USB worked for media

guess the only thing left to add might be the dash cam... but man it is getting crazy stuffing those harness in and out of the dash!

After a few weeks with the ILX-F511, I’m getting constant “vehicle approaching from behind” warnings with sound and screen prompts. Most of the time there isn’t even a vehicle behind me. How do I turn it off or calibrate it so it works correctly?
