Aloha y’all

New here and just wanted to say hello. After months of searching we bought our 2015 TRD Pro used in February 2020 from a dealership in San Antonio and had it shipped to Hawaii. We all instantly fell in love with it and during the height of Covid when everything was shut down, my little family adventured all over our island with it and had a blast (beach, mountains, camping, etc.). When we were getting ready to move to Georgia two years later, several coworkers and friends begged us for it (Toyotas are huge in Hawaii; every other car is a Tacoma, Tundra, or 4Runner!) but we were so sentimentally attached to it we couldn’t sell. So it came with us.

Thanks in advance for answering the dumb questions I am sure to have (mostly when I’m trying to figure out a part to buy as a surprise for my husband).

@bulldog93 Kauai. Was thankful for the opportunity to return home as an adult and have my kids spend half their childhood where I grew up.

Should have sold it for a mint to someone there on the island to make their dreams come true! Would save on import costs back to the mainland and could use the money to buy another clean example, with money left over for mods! Great looking truck, I understand why it was hard to part with.

 

@KNABORES we did think about it, especially since we had gotten the truck at a great price. But we wouldn’t have made enough to buy another one outright in the same condition when we got to GA. At the time truck costs were insane and I didn’t want a car payment on the heels of a cross country move.

I get to missing home right around January generally. I brought my truck with me as well. It just wasn’t replaceable given the condition and insane price hikes from Covid.
