I know it may not look terrible on the pics, but almost every part of the truck was dented and interior flooded.
Tree laws are a nightmare too. Thank goodness for comprehensive coverage!

Make sure to get a check cut out for diminished value if possible. Car accident lawyers (however scummy they are) are very good about getting maximum value of diminished value negotiation and settlement.

Your carfax after repair is most likely going to show major damage because of the cost to repair your truck.

Tree looks like it was alive prior to hitting your truck. That's considered act of God. If it was dead, go after the owner of the tree.

There are cases of a live tree that was proven to be improperly maintained and the tree owner had to pay damages.

Sorry to hear about the truck taking the hit.

Im hoping the county will reimburse the deductible and the residual value kicks in. The truck is looking as new with the last report i got.

If it's dead, go after the tree owner. They should have removed the tree. Remind your insurance company of that fact and they will go after the owner of the tree, or at least they should.

I got into something very similar with a piece of wooded property I own some distance away. Not going there as often as I'd like a tree close to a neighboring home died and during a wind storm broke up and took down the power feed to the home. There were green vines growing up the tree and the homeowner swore the tree was alive even after I inspected it and told him it was dead. Idiot should have listened to me and my insurance would have paid for all the repairs.
