All in 1 key fob for Tundra Owners 2007 - 2017

Howdy from Texas !

Hope y’all are staying safe out there with everything on in the world! Took advantage of all the time I’ve been having lately and completed this mod for my key that I’ve been wanting to do for a while. As for the many people who own Tundras between 2008 - 2017, I believe the key and key fob are the same as mine. I bought the key fob housing from AJT design and used a dremel to cut apart both the key fob housing and my key to remove the transponder. I also had to physically cut my key in order for it to fit in the AJT housing. I then hid the transponder for the key between the key fob module and the silicon covering, which I then put inside the AJT housing. Next I epoxyed the key to the housing and viola !! All in one key fob ! I cannot take credit for the idea, since I saw this on @AlmightyCrash thread !! Big thanks to him and AJT design !!

Do you have any trouble with it wiggling? That was my only issue the first time around, especially when starting the truck...then I went back in and reinforced it and it’s been great since.

Not at all !! I was worried about that initially, but after applying the epoxy, I used a small piece of popsicle stick and laid it on top of the key inside the housing so it could emulate the keyfob being inside the AJT design housing. Then I screwed in the small screws securing the housing and left it to try overnight.

 

How is the key holding up?

Followed this and am not disappointed so far! Had trouble with transponder as I tried a different spot but once I put it where kentran had it then it fired right up.
