Tunda in question is a 2001, stock height and tires truck, 2WD: Any idea for an average price? I was quoted $120.00, that seems pricey to me, but it could be I'm living in the past and it's an okay price. I'm in SoCal and this is the closest place that seems to have a decent reputation for good work. Just wondering, not a deal breaker either way. All the suspension bits are in good nic by the way, and before I reshoe it I want an alignment. Cheers.

$125-225 is pretty normal here, with $125 being on the low end. That's for a standard alignment. Some places that specialize in offroad stuff will charge more for custom alignment.

Going rate in my town is $160 give or take. I'd get the alignment after the new shoes, not before.

Firestone is about 110 for a standard 4wheel alignment and also offers the Lifetime version for about $200. If you plan to keep it - this is cheaper long run.

My local mechanic is $85, which is super reasonable. They even test drive it after and make any necessary tweaks. Honestly think it's a loss leader for them, because it's not a 10 minute 'toe and go'. With the CA 'surcharge' you're paying, $120 is pretty good.

Why would you alignment before new shoes??? Get the alignment with the new tires so they wear correctly. No point setting things up to the old tires.

I paid $120 in SoCal - Monrovia at a Toyota off-road shop. They got me dialed in. They used the alignment rack and offered a digital printout. I will continue to go back there for alignments.

before that I got a $90 alignment that was done by a shop in Inglewood that was ok/awful and done the old school way.

get the new tires first then get an alignment right after

Get an alignment whenever you get new tires or swap rims- AFTER they have been installed....or have any pull or tire wear issues.

An alignment is $150 here in eastern Canada. But some shops will give you a break charging just $85 because, in reality, they are only aligning the front end. The rear axle is not much more than a reference point because there is nothing to align on it really.

I've done my own alignment with SharkEye old school rack only once on every vehicle we have in the family. Much to my surprise, the alignments don't go anywhere, even on old Volvo with self-leveling rear suspension and 20 years old subframe bushings. In about 13 years I own this car no one did the alignment right. Every time something was off. Going back and complaining didn't yield any positive outcome.

$200-250 is what a reputable tire shop or dealer were asking for alignment a few years back around here in Boston suburbs.

Mounting, balancing and alignment are things I'll go to a good shop for. I've had far to many crappy shops do crappy work.... I think my last alignment was $200 at a really reputable shop.
