I'm getting an alignment after installing Bilstein 6112 @ +1.9" and 5160's at stock height.

Anything I need to know before going for the alignment? I know with higher lifts there can be issues with alignments and the need for aftermarket UCA, etc.

I assume with stock Platinum wheels/tires and a simple 1.9" level, alignment should be pretty easy?

There will be no issues getting a proper alignment at that setting. The only issue would be any lack of knowledge of the guy who works on it.

100%. The latest/greatest machine might show all's good, but a veteran will know how to make it good in actuality. Just my experience....

Your numbers are very close to mine. I have the same suspension setup. One thing after my alignment was the steering wheel was Very slightly off center after the alignment. Truck tracks straight, etc. so it was Not enough of a problem that I wanted to fool with taking it back to the shop.

the camber is way too high. you are seriously going to wear the outside of your tires. the camber should be much closer to zero (-0.15 to +0.15).

toe is fine. caster is ok. it could be a little higher, but if the truck drives fine, then it should be ok.

So two people say good and one says camber is way off...alignments are a little like voodoo.

Green does not mean go. Stock spec no longer applies on a lifted tundra.

All you got was a “toe n go”.

Your camber and caster didn’t change from initial to final. So they did nothing to actually adjust your alignment. They literally only set the toe, which any monkey with a wrench can do. It’s a simple adjustment on the tie rod. You got ripped off if you paid for an alignment.

Camber is too high. Should be closer to 0.

caster is ok. Though it’s going to change once the camber is set properly. So if the technician doesn’t know what he’s doing he will say he can’t get in “in spec”

Toe is a little high. Ideally, total toe should be around 0.15.

These 2 guys are correct. Camber too high, caster too low. Green goes out the window after lifted, especially on caster. All they did was a “toe and go” alignment. You got ripped off.

Can you get a proper alignment after a lift at the dealership?

Usually not. They will align it to “within spec”. But with a lift, you need specific numbers.

anything that you do to raise the suspension is called a lift. anything from the 5100's at the lowest setting to 3" coil overs to a 6" drop bracket is a lift. lifting your truck changes the suspension characteristics and, as such, requires more specific numbers to get a proper alignment. with the higher you go, just being "in the green" is not good enough. you can be in the green and still have tire wear, wandering, and pulling. you will want to align your truck for the lift that you have.

probably not. they probably align it "in the green".

Probrally right. Would think people would see more tire wear in the pros

So I should be asking for:

    Camber - +0.15

Caster - As a high as possible while still keeping camber near +0.15

Toe - +0.07 per side or +0.15 total toe

Dumb question - is the rear adjustable at all? What's up with a positive toe on one side and a negative toe on the other?

Thanks, Everyone! I appreciate your help!

That would work. Also, read this

    Rear is not adjustable.

Neighbor turned a wrench for 18 years and was "the alignment guy" and his former employer lets him use the shop when they're slow. I was shooting the poop with him the other day and he asked to see the alignment and he agreed it wasn't very good. He took my truck in this AM and got it much better - left the printout at work but numbers in the ballpark of:

    Camber: +0.13
    Caster: +2.6
    Toe: +0.10
    Total tow: +0.20

Steering is also dead-on center, steering seems a little more responsive, gave him a bottle of whisky for his time.

Thanks for everyone's help and suggestions.

Glad you got it sorted out? How are you liking that set up overall? Waiting to find the right deal to grab my 6112s. Since you have a 20 as well, any sensor problems?

Yeah me too. The stink bug look is killing me haha. Plus the 6112 option leaves the door open for me to go bigger once I need new tires and such. Can’t justify going all out yet! Do you have a pic?
