Hello everyone and thanks for any advice or recommendations.
    Located in NW Alabama,
    Issue- Cam tower oil leak-
I need advice on a Toyota dealer/service dept that I can trust to do warranty work on my 2018 Tundra ( 43k miles). It has the Cam tower oil leak and the repair is very invasive into the engine- I do not know who to trust or take it to-

    Thanks!

Below is the thread describing my and many others issue,
I have attached a few photos of the leak I took today as well.

Sorry, that's the opposite corner from me. Wish I could help!

How bad is the leak? I don't think I've ever heard of it doing more than slowly seeping.

I have discovered dripping to the exhaust- However it's so slow that it will never make it to the ground.

I have read on the FRS/86 forums you can call Toyota CS and ask them which dealer near has done the most of those repairs. They had a valve spring recall and some members had the same concern as you. Calling Toyota CS was their solution.

I lived in Florence for several years, really enjoy the Shoals. I owned a Chevy truck when I lived there so I can’t speak to local Toyota dealers. It’s a few hours from you, but I have had great experiences with Tuscaloosa Toyota. Never anything as major as your repair, but it’s the best I can offer as far as a recommendation. Good luck!

I always had great service at Toyota of Decatur until recently, I live in Huntsville and can only suggest Bill Penney.

I had mine done 45K miles ago and no issues after, but I'm out in Phoenix. I would try to find a dealership that was referred from another member having that job completed. That's not something you want someone inexperienced to tackle.

I haven't had too much success with dealers in the Huntsville area.

Bill Penny Toyota treated me very well when I bought a Tacoma roughly 12 years ago. But, when I traded in that Tacoma for a Tundra a few years later, they did the nickel & dime routine on everything. Between the trade-in (less) and new truck (more), I probably lost about $8-9k. Also purchased new off-road tires, but they didn't credit me for the stock tires. Hate to think what they might do with a serious repair.

During my last visit, Toyota of Decatur kept my Tundra for two full days to do a simple repair (remove the bed side-steps) and a cleaning/detailing (it was cold & I was lazy). When I got the truck back, they hadn't even washed or waxed it (could write my name in the dust), with the associate standing there, with a smile on his face, dishonestly insisting the truck looked great.

I'm looking for that good dealer/repair shop too, so all I can do is wish you good luck.

If you're out of warranty I'd check with a small shop in Huntsville called DK Automotive, that's where I take my Landcruiser and 4Runner. They are great and honest.

You're the 2nd person to mention DK Auto to me. Don't remember who the first was. Anyway, I'll have to check them out. Thanks.
