I'm diagnosing an airbag light on my 2003, getting codes 62 and 31. This is leading me to believe I have a bad front right airbag sensor.

Looking in to the part needed (89173-49165), I can't find any available. The left side sensor (89174-49065), however, is available.

Has anyone run in to this issues? Is there a recall or something so it needs a new part? Could the LH sensor be modified to go on to the RH? Is there a suitable aftermarket replacement?

    Thanks in advance

Amayama is another source out of Japan where you can sometimes manage to get parts that are out-of-stock, and also spend significantly less money on OEM authentic parts, you just gotta wait a few more days for it to reach us from Japan. www.amayama.com

It appears they may have it in stock: https://www.amayama.com/en/part/toyota/8917349165

For the record, plenty of others here have used their service. I haven't yet heard a complaint other than, "took a week longer than I expected to get the part".

Thanks, I'll call the dealer and see if they have a recommendation, otherwise I guess I'll wait on the part from japan
