Instead of having an onboard compressor I am thinking of installing a 1-gallon air tank for my Firestone bags. Has anyone installed a tank? If so, where did you mount it?

Why not a bicycle or other type of hand pump? It’d take up less room and you wouldn’t have to fill it or worry that it would run out.

I thought about it. Would a bicycle pump fill bags to 35psi?

Depending on the model it could be viable but may be prone to overheating. You may also be waiting a while to fill to max PSI. Most models start to struggle the closer you get to the max rated PSI. Project Farm posted a video evaluating various automobile tire infiltrators, it may give you a good starting point if you go this route.

That is why I was looking into the 1 gal tank that can hold 175 psi. That will be more than enough to fill the bags a few times than just fill it up when needed.

I bought this for mine. Uses the same batteries as my other Dewalt tools and airs up the bags quick.
