Air injection valve

    Hi all im Andy and new here hooe all is well
    My problem is i have 2005 Toyota tundra 4.7L and about 8 months ago got the code for my secondary injection valve and i did change that and i didnt change the air pump and the diverter or what ever they cal that so the light came on again and i didnt want to go open the whole thing back again and change the air pump and the diverter valve so i let it go till the time come for my smoke check and i said let me fix the issue i got the parts and did change the rest of it and still im getting the same code p1440 secondary air valve stock close bank 1 now im going crazy with this what else could be the issue now and by the way when i opened to change tbe air pump i did change the valves again i told the part store they r defective just in case but it seams like it my issue is somewhere else plz anyone know or had any experience like this after u change everything u stilm get the same code???

    That sounds like a nightmare. Install a bypass from hewitt-tech.com and never have to worry about it again.

    Not familiar with the Tundras version of this false hope for cleaner emissions, but I did have a similar problem on my VW. Here is how I did troubleshooting one mine:
    1) verified that the pump works
    2) verified that the kombi valve works
    3) verified that the solenoid providing vacuum the the kombi valve works
    4) verified that all vacuum lines between the solenoid and kombi valve work (this was the problem.)

    Looking at a diagram of your system, sounds like you have a bad valve. If it were the pump or the diverter you would be failing at both banks. If your code means one bank I would revisit that valve and check that the electrical connections and any fuses are working.

    For those recommending these Hewitt devices, do those also display that the system is test ready? In CA I you can't pass without a positive system test. My VW didnt have a CEL but was not "test ready" when I learned my SAI was failing.

    Yes i did reset my code with obdll and also tried to leave the battery cable out for the night and yes i did change the valve again with another nee set vacuum lines are ok but the only thing is not ok its me lol going nuts now so i dont know should i check the pipe line goes to the Exhaust manifold maybe it is It is clocked super tired of this i know it must be a very stupid problem but where should i pin point i dont know and tx anyways for all the info
