Almost always when I turn my truck on and after driving for approximately 1-2km my airbag light goes on and stays on until I turn off the truck. Probably 90% of the time I drive.

I've scoured the internet to find an answer to this and have had no luck.

I tried checking all the under seat connections. Another thing I read is that it could be related to when I changed my steering wheel spiral cable about a year ago, faulty possibly?

Anyone with any suggestions would be much appreciated!

You'll either have to have the dealer or a mechanic scan the airbag computer or you can do it yourself with the Techstream software. Anything else would just be guessing.

Good advice on scanning the codes as a starting point.

Odds are that is where the problem lies, since you have recently changed the spiral cable, and were in there messing with the factory connections.

If you got your spiral cable off eBay, most of those are Chinese imposters...they look exactly like Toyota's version, but they don't have to meet Toyota's QC. I would go in and check to insure all the connections are properly made, and if they look fine, I would then order a OEM spiral cable. Too much tedious bs involved to have to replace it every year or so. You can find Toyota spiral cables on eBay, but they'll cost several times the cheapo price. Be careful when messing with that air bag...and DISCONNECT your battery ground cable while working.

You'll be gambling about $150 that the spiral cable is bad, but if you have the dealer diagnose and replace an airbag (I guarantee that diagnosis and they'll say your spiral cable is bad too), you're looking at $XXXX.

Sorry I took so long to reply, thanks for the suggestions. Just changed out the spiral cable again for a new one last week and everything seems to be back to normal. Only time will tell now!
