I have a matching 5th wheel/tire in my space. It fits but is pretty tight. Mine measures at 34" diameter Toyo Open Country AT3 on a matching wheel. I guess you could drop the pressure a bit, but you would need a pump to reach the desired pressure if you ever need to use it.

I would think so because if you own an AWD and destroy 1 tire that is more than 30% worn, they want all 4 changed out.

But in a true emergency ...I would drive with three tires and 1 rim lol. ANd thinking back I have been driving for 40 years and have yet to change a tire on the side of the road

Running a different sized spare might be an issue for the differentials. If I have a flat, I don't know how quickly I can get it changed or fixed or if off roading, you might need to use the 4LO or 4HI. I really don't want to deal with something going wrong with my locker or front diff which appears to randomly implode!

I’ve got a factory TRD black 20 with a Toyo MT 35x12.5 crammed in there. I cut off the back mounts so the tire sits more tucked up behind the rear axle

Just swapped my factory spare with an OEM 20" TRD OR rim and Maxxis RAZR 285/65R20 tire. Fits fully inflated at a slight angle without any modification.

thanks for the pics, what's causing it to seat at an angle?
Are there any potential the rim surface would get scratched up?

There's a lip that snugs up to the factory spare. The larger tire won't fit inside it so it sort of rests on top of it.

The rim doesn't come in contact with the body so I don't think it will get scratched.
