I bought my 24 SR5 with 25K on it and in great shape, but I opted to wait a few months to get an aftermarket warranty for a variety of reasons.

Based on my own research, I think have a source picked out, but I wanted to see what everyone else is using and how it's been for them when it's actually been put to use.

My last car I bought an extended warranty for, and I'm really glad I did. Sadly, I'm not inclined to go with that company again (had my transmission torn down during COVID while the dealership fell apart around my car. Epic F***up.) I don't recall the brand at the moment, but I'll have to root through old papers to find it.

Is there a cost difference the longer I wait?

I have found that the majority of aftermarket warranties are virtually worthless. You can still purchase a Toyota factory extended warranty as long as you are still under the original. You buy it from a dealer but there can be significant price differences depending on the dealer. The cost can always go up, so the sooner you buy, the better. Generally.

Many here including myself have bought one from a dealer in Kansas but some have found similar deals at other dealers. I will message you the info. The contact is very busy and can take some time to respond.

Search around for a Toyota platinum extension. I got a 7 year 125,000 mile platinum for $1,595.
