Aftermarket Tow Mirrors & retaining BSM funtion

Is anyone running aftermarket tow-mirrors that actually retained the blind spot monitor funtion?

I installed a pair from A-premium Auto that looked promising. Heater function worked , blinker worked , power mirror movement worked and even a backup light all worked . However BSM would not work.

After doing some digging ( in an 800 page wiring diagram manual) I found out that since I have “ mirror memory “ I had to repin the wire harness connector as the wires are different with this option . Still getting a BSM system error.

This is on a 2012 Sequoia Platinum w/ mirror & seat memory option.

I also tried running an LED directly wired from the connector in hopes that I could just place the light in the sail panel & bypass the mirror altogether . No luck!

 

Hey I just bought one and am in this situation. did you ever get it figured out?

No luck , had to return them . So I’m going with mirror extensions & a camera on the back of the RV .
For whatever reason the memory mirror function setup doesn’t play well with others…..They must be really sensitive to the circuit resistance I guess . My multimeter didn’t read a measurable difference in resistance between the stock & aftermarket mirrors….
