First suggestion is to use the search feature, but really all you needed to do was browse the 1st page of the threads list to find 6 pages worth of information to help.

Depending on your level of experience, consider using Crutchfield.com to buy your stuff, they'll set you up with all the harnesses and adapters you need so you can avoid any absurd schmuckery like cutting the factory harnesses. Only dbags do that.

@shifty` nailed it. I went to Crutchfield. I'm in the Apple ecosystem so I required CarPlay. I wanted wireless. I wanted multiple cameras. I wanted Capacitive. I didn't care about DVD/CD player, built in navigation, and I wasn't willing to wait for stock to replenish. Left me with something like 4 options in the price range I was willing to invest.

Decent budget to some is $1700 for only headunit. Decent budget to others is $1700 for headunit, speakers, and amp. Crutchfield's filters and related accessories is where it's at.

    I second the Crutchfield route.

Just installed an android auto double din Kenwood in a 2000. Ridiculously easy. No thin cage or radio trim needed. Took the supports off of the old radio, screwed right on the new one and screwed the new assembly right in the same holes that held in the old. Looks great. Added a rear camera, and a USB stick with a thousand songs. Still got all the other options. Pandora, Spotify, etc. Paid $200 for a $600 radio from Ebay, used but perfect. Now I got to do the speakers
