Hello Tundras.com people! First time posting, long time post creeper.

I've been having an issue with my 2016 double cab limited, the light on the a/c button starts flashing right after Iv'e started the truck. This started in the fall after the hot weather ended and a/c wasn't needed anymore. If you hit the button the light goes out until the next time the truck is started. If you try and turn on the a/c it doesn't work, not a bid problem here in Canada at the moment but it still had warranty.

Since warranty was almost up I took it to the local dealer, which is an hour and half away. First they said the solar sensor harness had high resistance and it likely the fault of the aftermarket remote start the the harness is $5500 probably no warranty. I had to make another appointment for a later date where after 3 hours of troubleshooting they tell me they need to keep my truck for a couple days for figure things out.

So after nearly a week and several phone calls I found out they hadn't touched my truck, so after some strong words they actually do something and have the remote start disabled and find out that the problem is a fried body control module. Again they blame the remote start but can't really prove it so they have replaced it under warranty. Now they are claiming that if I have the remote start hooked back up and the same problem happens they won't cover it. Had anyone experienced an issue like this from an aftermarket remote start?

What really pisses me off is I was going to fork over the money for a Toyota one to avoid any issues like this but they couldn't provide me with one and told me they send everybody down the street to this place that specializes in remote starters, so that's what I did.

Sorry for the long winded post, hope you guys can give me some advice.

I wouldn't risk putting it back on if your warranty is almost up.

Was it a plug and play DIY remote start?
