First "true" post to the forum, aside from the initial join post. This forum is a wealth of knowledge and have greatly benefited pre-purchase of truck and post. Thank you to all who contribute!

This question is for those who have an aftermarket bumper and decided to keep the parking sensors...in summary, have the parking sensors in the front become more responsive to things directly in front of the bumper when compared to the factory bumper and factory position/angle of the sensors?

    Background...
I am contemplating initiating the de-chrome process and most likely starting with the bumper. Currently my truck has the color matched rear and chrome front bumper setup. I have thought about new caps and also the bumpershellz option, however, I have also thought about going aftermarket on the front.

I am inclined to replace the front bumper with aftermarket if there is an improvement in the parking sensor feedback. They go off when an object is in the corners, but not when there is something (a wall, vehicle, or some other object) directly in front. I believe they don't function as well as the rears because the front are on an angle in relation to the front end. Design flaw IMO. I do not really need the sensors unless I am parking in my garage, but I did get the sensors for the times my wife drives it (not often, but enough). My other option is to do the front camera.

If there is an improvement with the aftermarket bumper, that is the route I will take because it kills two birds with one stone, and results in an overall cost savings when I consider my de-chrome/sensor options.
