I just put some new fox 2.5 with resis on my 2006 tundra DC and there is no preload. Does anyone else have experience with these shocks (and truck) that can give some input on how much adjustment would give 3" lift?

Preload does not equal thread showing, which I will assume thats what you meant by not having any preload on the coilovers.

We typically avoid trying to achieve a specific lift height number. The main reason being, the lift height on the product description is not always going to provide the best ride quality. For example, if 3" of lift puts the shock nearly maxed out in its travel, it will ride terrible. Our suggestions to customers are for shock lengths at ride height. This number allows for a proper amount of up and down travel for max performance. This formula is pretty easy to follow, but may not get you that 3" lift you want. This also depends on which shocks specifically you have. Do you have the part number?

Thanks for the response @AccuTune Offroad I actually called your shop last week and spoke to someone. Yes, the coilovers came with the collar all the way at the top, so no threads showing and sitting I'm assuming at stock height. Truck came with readystruts and a spacer, which is what I'm getting rid of, so I don't know what stock ride height was. But I can guess based on other trucks.

This is the coilover I purchased: FOX-880-06-420.

Gotcha. Based on info we have, those coilovers should be set at around 18" at ride height referencing this diagram:
