Hey everyone! Recently bought a 22 Tundra SR5 and it did not come with any of the additional cameras that come on some of the higher trims. My question is, has anyone tried adding some of these cameras onto their trucks? Is it similar connectors? If I do this would I need to update my trucks software somehow? Thanks in advance!

Do you want something for trail use or do you the same functionality/integrated look of the factory 360 degree cameras?

If you want a system for trail use, I’ve seen a few rigs use the wireless Garmin cameras (like the BC40 or BC50) and use it as a front camera for approaching obstacles. It’s pretty slick and I think I might do it one day. The BC50 is small and I might see if I can 3D print a mount that will hold it my vacant camera hole on the Heritage grill I installed on my SR5 awhile ago.

I’ve also seen some of my fellow XJ off roaders use a Chinese-made camera system that sells in the US under the name “Tadi Brothers.” That system has 4 cameras and a screen for about $1000.

These are both add-on systems that work well for their purpose (like tight trails) but aren’t integrated like the factory system.

I've seen aftermarket head units 14" that offer 360/multiple zone views, complete with wiring and cameras.

It's not crazy expensive regardless if you do this aftermarket or go at it OEM. Most ppl think use brand new MSRP OEM prices which are always over inflated and disregard the used market.

For instance ppl said 14" not possible and well it's possible.

Same with powered seats, not possible and well it's possible

Same thing with the headlights, I'm guessing eventually someone will come up with a harness to use for the OEM canbus lights on non OEM ones (they have done this to other vehicles already)
