So, I'm anticipating buying my brother in law's 2016 Limited CM. He put a 3" lift in it with 33" tires. I don't know the brand. I've seen a lot of Tundras with a bright red rear sway bar and from what I've read, it improves the ride. If I add one, do I need to make any accomodations for the lift? I assume the links would have to be longer? Sorry, I'm new at this. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks!

Im sure someone will chime in with better info, but I have one installed on my TRD PRO with ~34 tires and a 1.25” lift. Fits no problem

Typically, the rear of the truck isn’t lifted 3” like the front would be, so you can usually consider it close to stock height. The Toyota TRd rear sway bar is a good upgrade for handling twisty roads and towing/hauling. I’ve run one for several years. With less than 2” of lift in the rear, you are usually fine to install it the same as if it were a stock vehicle. At 4”+x you should look in to extended sway bar links or rotating the axle mounts to the rear face of the axle instead of the bottom. Either way, you shouldn’t have much issue.

You can also mount it where it sits on the side of axle, vs under. Some with larger lifts in the rear do that vs extended links. No issue and still works as designed. There are some pics of that mounting around here on Tundras in TRD Rear Sway threads.

Any good reason NOT to get an aftermarket one vs OEM?

I know that the price delta is pretty steep over what you can find a TRD one for on sale, but this is the swaybar that I personally am going with. I was looking for additional rigidity in the rear over what the TRD one offers, and I also wanted the extensions to support my rear lift and travel of the new leaf packs.

I can save you a bit of money on a Hellwig too should you decide to go that route. Can't deny the value proposition of the TRD one, but just tossing out another option!
