Has anybody added just the front TRD Pro coilovers to their truck? Can you even buy just the fronts? I think I would like to add the complete system but was wondering if I could do the front as money allowed and then add the rears as money allowed. I know there are systems just as good if not better, some cost more some cost less. I think I want the Pro just for piece of mind as it is a genuine Toyota part. I'm not a heavy off roader but enjoy the occasional side and back rocky roads here in the Ozarks. I initially thought about the 6112/5160 with the 6112 maybe set first or second notch above the bottom because I'm not after more than 2". But after thinking about it I believe I want the Pro system the only thing is price and I still have to buy a set of 275/70r18 KO2's that's why I was wondering about piecing it together. Thanks.

oh yeah, you can get just the fronts. They're a pretty penny though, could get kings or fox shocks for the same price.

and honestly, a "genuine toyota part" doesn't really make it better than aftermarket. Just saying.

Very true and I have not eliminated those options I was just more concerned about warranty even though aftermarkets shouldn't affect warranty but you always hear horror stories of something not being covered due to aftermarket components that had nothing to do with the failure. I plan on keeping this truck for a long time and like I said I'm not a serious off roader but want a little higher stance in the front using quality components. How online offers the fronts only so I can go see prices?

yeah, some stealerships will screw you over but look up Mossberg act or something like that....i forget the actual name, but essentially it states that it's up the the dealership to prove that the aftermarket part DID affect the "failure" or along those lines.

not exactly sure where you can get some pro suspension setups other than getting lucky on craigslist, this forum's marketplace and MAYBE purchasing them through toyota or through Roman on here.

Sparks and Cool Springs have the complete system (front & rear) but I haven't found a vendor online with just the fronts.

One of the most common arguments for going fox or kings is variable adjustability. Not everyone wants to be making adjustments though. Also I think that the argument comes up about being able to rebuild them. Again, not everyone wants to or will do that themselves either. A plus for the pro equipment is it is specifically engineered for the tundra.
I'm not sure about the warranty issue, that should not be an issue if the dealer has any integrity (lol). The pro suspension is very effective but expensive. Durability should be pretty good but since it's only been around since 2015, isn't yet proven.
Personally, it's the smoothest riding truck I've ever been in. I've owned maybe 17 trucks and driven various work trucks for about 30 years.
    Good luck with your choice!

A little of this and a little of that.
I'd bet that if you gave Roman a call he could hook you up, even if it's not listed on their site. Give it a try, what do you have to lose?

Spot on in my opinion and will second the smoothest riding truck I have owned.

Tons of options for the money but I have no regrets on opting for the pro setup. It rides and drives extremely well and compliant but will take some substantial hits with no drama.

OP, I thought I remember seeing the fronts and rears available separate at one point but in my latest search I can't seem to locate that option right now. Maybe Roman can help out when he is back from his honeymoon. Other option is Ebay, Craigslist, etc.

Thanks for the responses! This isn't something I'll be doing very soon, more like a year from now. I'm just kind of weighing my options and getting figures lined up as I am beginning to save. I think first I will be getting some 275/70r18 for my stock TRD wheels (which I will keep even after suspension). Unless I can go a little taller with the Pro suspension and keep my wheels with no rubbing.

I had the same internal debate as you and ended up with the 6112/5160 combo. It rides fantastic, especially off road and costs less than half. Mine is set at the 3rd setting (1.9" of lift) and is identical to a Pro.

Did you keep your factory TRD OR wheels? If so what size tire did you go with?

I still have stock TRD wheels and tires. Im going to use the tires until they get lower in tread. I hate wasting stuff. I plan on going with 275/70's though when I replace them.

275/70's would look perfect on 2"-2.5" of lift IMO. any taller, you'd need to pony up for 295/70's.

I've got 275/70 on stock OR wheels and stock OR suspension. Zero rubbing.

I'm looking at 6112's for about 2" up front and will look at 305/65 on the stock OR wheels in a couple of years once I wear out these.

305/65 vs 275/70 is aBout an inch and a half wider but only slightly bigger diameter. I think it would work out with 2" lift up front and maintaining the stock OR wheels

Do the 6112's have the patented TRD 3 stage internal valving? I did not think so.
I'm not a fanboy and am no suspension guru. A knowledgeable side x side comparison would be useful. Sometimes the fanboy argument about fox, icon, and kings, reminds me of the lunchtime arguments we had on the job sites about ford, chevy, and dodge, 30 years ago!

Gosolo, interesting. So I was looking at bilsteins website and it looks like the 8112's are the match to the pro's. Looks like only difference is the resivoir is remote mounted as opposed to hard mounted on the pro.
I haven't looked into the fitment yet but it looks like you may have hit on something.
Also, didn't look at price yet. More research coming.

Uh, yeah about 2k on summit. Probably could be found cheaper.
    I like my 6112's.
Pros might be cheaper than the 8112's

Oh, I didn't mean the 6112s are the same. The Pros are better. I just meant that they are both very similar. I would even put them above the Fox or Icon 2.0's.

    I've got 355k on 07/11 TRD Tundras.

I can tell you two things.

    1. The Pro is on another planet in terms of ride.

    2. After 350k on BFG KO I found a better tire which I didn't think was possible.

So what's the better tire? I've run BFG's for 20.+ years. Coopers have been good but what do you suggest?
Also, what sort of terrain do you run through?

I'm a Toyo fanboy to the max. Cooper and BF Goodrich (aka Michelin) make good stuff too though.
