    Howdy friends,
I'm sitting on a set of Icon Six Speeds and planning to put on some Toys ATIII 285/75r17 once I burn out (or just get too impatient w/) these ATIIs later this Summer. I currently have 5100's (mid setting) on the front a stock rear and I think it looks OK and I like the slight rake (~0.5") but with the addition of new wheels and larger tires I would like to add roughly an inch of height all around and economically if possible.

I have seen a few places where guys will add 2 CB shims up front w/ 5100's mid clip and say the ride is still decent... and also add shackles in the back.
I don't know much about shackles but it seems that guys testify to a bit of increased ride comfort with them (true?) and relative ease of install.

My question is, what are the best/most economical shackles for a 1" - 1.25" lift?
I would also need rear shocks (I believe), and it looks like Eibach, Toytech etc have sets for ~$200. Is there anything else I would need for this set up?

Anyone with a similar one that can testify to ride quality or other expectations?

    Thanks!

    Current setup:

I think that you have answered your own question. If you dont want to bump up the coilovers, shims can work and a shackle is better than a block for the rear. You got it covered.

You can probably run those tires fine at your current height. Before shimming your current setup, wait til you get the tires, jack up the front by 1 inch and see if it makes much of a difference

With 2 shims on each coilover, are the top plate bolts still long enough to tighten up to the mount? Seems like 1/2" is going to make bolts a little short going thru mount.

Thanks - from what I see from others on here those 285/75's will fit stock suspension even.

As I looked at this a bit more, I'd probably be at or over $1k just to shackle/shocks/shims/alignment. It's be cool, but might just get my hands on both the 285/70 and 285/75 Toys ATIIIs and see which I like best with my current set up and save the coin for gas and other fun.
Thanks again for the info and thoughts all!
