Today someone in front of me decided at the last minute to take a right and the cruise control "hit the brakes". Does anyone know if the brake lights come on so nobody rear ends you??? :monocle:

Are you saying you have confirmed that brake lights activate when adaptive cruise slows the truck?

I was told by the salesman the brake lights come on. The truck will brake to 20 mph and then the rest is up too you…. Haven’t had the first hand knowledge too verify it yet.

Truck will slow to almost a stop. I’ve tried it coming to a stop light on highway. With me foot hovering the brake. The braking very smooth and liner. The acceleration however is more than I’d give if I was using the throttle.

Nice, glad too hear someone with experience. Always looked in the rear view while it slowed to make sure no one was climbing up the back end….

That’s right. I’ve seen them come on in the side view mirrors.

Similar to the other poster, I’ve also tested this hovering over the brake. There’s a chime and a warning on the dash that adaptive cruise is no longer available and the brakes are no longer applied. IIRC, it was somewhere in the 40-50kph when it disengages.

I can say the auto brake feature has prompted the middle finger from the drivers behind me more than once.

Yeah adaptive cruise is not very refined in my opinion. Some pretty hard braking at times and then the computer floors it once traffic speeds back up
