I've searched around this forum and couldn't find what I was looking for, so hoping someone here can help.

I have a 2010 Tundra, 5.7L V8, double Cab & 18" wheels, that I know for sure. It has the TRD Rock Warrior "Sticker" and SR5 emblem on it but how do I know it definitely is that? Is there a way to do a VIN search to see exactly what the specs are? I really just need to know if the Towing capacity is either 8,000 or 10,000 lbs., what the tongue weight & payload capacity is.

Most true TRD stickers are all one piece, like on an Off Road or Sport. Not saying that the Rock Warriors are one piece but looking at my TRD OR and others, they are one piece. My point is, that yours could be a sticker that someone made and stuck on the truck to give the appearance of a higher trimmed out truck. I assume you bought it used like that, if you didn't and you bought it new, then disregard my comments. LOL.

Anyways, I think you can get the Monroney sticker here, https://monroneylabels.com/. That should tell you enough of what you need to know I think.

So my is GVWR = 7100 lbs, Payload = 1640 lbs, Max Tow Cap = 8300 lbs, Curb = 5460 lbs.

Am I correct in assuming that GVWR (7100 lbs) - Curb (5460 lbs) - Full tank of gas (~146 lbs) - Passengers & cargo (600 lbs) = Max Hitch Weight Capacity (~894 lbs)?

If so, would I be good to pull a travel trailer that has a Hitch Weight of 785 lbs & Dry Weight + full fresh water tank of 55 gal. (456 lbs. + 6835 lbs = 7291 lbs)? The trailer has a Cargo Weight of 2750 lbs.

I would find a scale to weigh your truck. I’ll bet it is heavier than you think. My 2wd weighs 5600 empty. 4wds seem to be closer to 6000

Your thought process appears good. the trailer has a dry weight of 6800?

You are "double-dipping" by subtracting the fuel weight as a separate number (curb weight includes fuel and fluids). But, you failed to subtract an allowance for a weight distributing hitch, so it's probably about a wash. Your maximum allowable tongue weight appears greater than many of us believe. :eek2:

OTOH, your payload number looks really high. I suggest entering your VIN into the link that @RdKing provided above to determine as much about your truck's specs as Toyota provides (sometimes a lot, other times not so much). Also, find the actual model number of your truck (on the white? door jamb sticker), and look up the GVWR and towing ratings in the Owner Manual. If you don't have the owner manual, you can download it here:

    https://www.toyota.com/owners/resources/warranty-owners-manuals

The other thing I would do is follow @Hbjeff suggestion, and actually weigh the truck to determine actual curb weight. No passengers or cargo, but a full gas tank. Obtaining an actual loaded weight for the trailer with propane, batteries, water, and all supplies and gear on board will also be a wise decision to eliminate manufacturer optimism.

^^^what he said. That bumper is also going to add to your curb weight and take away from your payload.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you do not have a Rock Warrior truck. That bedside sticker looks very suspect lol. Plus, the RWs did not have any badging on the front doors--so no TUNDRA like yours has, neither did they have anything on the rear of the cab where you have the SR5 badge. Also, as already mentioned, that blue color was not offered in the RW trim.

Went to the site listed above and found out my tundra came with the factory 20's. Glad the PO swapped them over to the 18's.

I looked up the manual from your website and found the exact model and towing capacities for my truck (truck3).

(The 8300 towing capacity is for trucks that do not have the towing package installed and the 10300 towing capacity is for trucks that do have the towing package; mine has the towing package, therefore a GCWR is 16000 lbs)

The 2 stickers are from the side of the truck (truck1 & truck2) - 7100 GVWR.

    Picture 2 says:
"The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed 1380 lbs" - Is this my actual payload capacity?

And would the tongue weight of a trailer come out of this number?

The highlighted numbers are from the website that @Hbjeff recommended (truck.jpg) but since i have the towing package, does that make the 1380 lbs the new payload capacity?

Thanks for everyone's help, I didn't think finding this information would this dificult...

Yes, you are on the right path. The manual is okay, but sometimes can be a little generic in its capacities. The sticker says you have payload of 1,380. Basically, this is saying you have a truck that weighs 5,720 pounds with 0 accessories front the factory (7100-1380). With cargo, passengers, tongue weight, gear the Tundra is good for 7,100 pounds.

Only way to know is go weight the truck. I will bet you with a full tank of gas, you in it it weighs 6,100 to 6,200 pounds. I see aftermarket wheels/rims, and bumper that probably adds weight. That will leave you 900-1000 pounds of true real world payload.

Only way to know is to go weigh it at a scale. That trailer is going to be very tough if not impossible to keep under payload. If you even care......

Went to a place certified by the state for the truck weight and it came in at 6000 lbs. Added the family weight and tongue weight of the trailer plus the anti sway hitch and that totalled 1100 lbs. Do I'm already at the 7100 gvwr...

Does an anti sway hitch with weight distribution relieve anything from the payload amount? Or does it just distribute some of the weight to the front axel?

That is a result we're accustomed to seeing here...provided the passengers are relatively few and/or small, and the trailer is not too big.

If you want to have snacks and drinks in the truck, you are faced with the dilemma of choosing a smaller trailer, or doing a weight-reduction program on your Tundra to lower curb weight if you want to meet GVWR. Added off-road equipment (tires/wheels, front bumper) counts against your payload.

    No, counts against the payload.

Yes. Distributes some of the rear-concentrated payload to front axle to maintain braking and handling efficiency.
