***SEE UPDATE BELOW IN NEW THREAD REPLY***

I’m having significant driver’s side rear lean after install OME Dakar leaf springs. They advise 2.5” total lift in rear. Well, my driver rear increased about 1.25” and my pass rear increased about 2.5”
So I have a dramatic lean on my rear driver side (approx 1.25” lower than passenger rear)

FYI: I have the full nitro kit with the 613 HD coils front. I got 2.5” lift with the front when I compared my measurements. My driver corner is 1/4” shorter than passenger corner but I can live with that or add a shim later.

    Back to the leaf springs..

The guy at the shop told me ARB makes these leaf springs with one spring have a slightly lower spring rate. Because of these we made a decision to put the leaf with the higher spring rate on the driver’s side to account for gas tank weight etc.

I know Tundras are notorious for lean but this is just crazy. I’m waiting for the shop to call me back for their input. Also going to call ToyTec and ARB today.

I compared model name/# on both leaf packs they appear to be the same and they appear to be installed correctly.

Does any one have any advice? I don’t want to “just live with it”
As the lean is very dramatic and looks terrible. And yes I am parked on completely level ground. I am measuring from center wheel hub to top of fender and also measured ground to top of fender. 1.25” difference.

The “ <—O “ is on driver leaf and arrow is going towards front of truck. My understanding is this is correct.

I guess it’s also worth mentioning my fuel tank is full and I do have an RCI steel fuel tank skid, but the 1.25” lean still doesn’t add up to me.

Also now due to this lean, my ABS wire is almostttt pulled taunt (which Arb’s fk32 is supposed to remedy to allow play in cables/lines so when rear diff flexes) so now i’m afraid to go off road. I understand its an easy fix but it’s DUE TO THE LEAN.

    Too many, but not enough....
That sucks man, hope you get it figured out. I was thinking about this OME setup for a while but seems like lately i been seeing alot of guys with various issues, unevenness, getting higher lift than supposed to, I think I am just going to go with the Toytec setup now.

Nope...don't care if one spring has a slightly lower rate. That is not right, period.

The illusion is it looks like you are going to crab walk down the road.

Please do. I think the last big issue on OME i saw was that someone got like a 5" lift and nobody knows how. Resolutions would make me feel better but its not looking promising at the moment for me with OME.

Guy explain you want Dakar leaf pack with the “+” or “0” on the driver side to account for fuel tank and to eliminate any sag. But he explains “it’s just what you get” soooo ARB has 3 different leaf packs and just picks 2 to ship you?! I will see what they say today. But looks like I definitely need a “+” leaf pack on my driver side.

ToyTec confirmed that the 0 should be on driver side and - on the passenger side. This is how mine is set up. So that is correct. He advised ARB measures the leaf packs with lasers and then makes those markings. so if you end up with a + or 0, that indicates that leaf pack is heavier and should be placed on driver’s side. He also had me confirm with my shop that the leaf springs and the OME shackles were torqued on the ground NOT in the air as this can cause un even heights.
Called the guy back at the shop and he said he torqued them on the ground which is the correct way.
He advised he has seen this lean issue with other vehicles at the shop that use arb’s leaf packs. He said to drive the truck for 500-600 miles and let things settle to see if the lean diminishes.
I will be calling ARB in about 30 mins to get their input.

Feeling a little dumb but I went and remeasured. This time in an area I know 100% is flat even though I took a level to my driveway.

The driver front and driver rear are actually only 1/4” lower than passenger front and passenger rear.

The 1/4” lean doesn’t bug me, but if I wanted to fix it, the fix would be a 1/4” shim on the driver front shock (Coachbuilder makes a good one) and 1/4” shim under the driver rear leaf pack. Also seeing how this would require taking the front shock and rear leaf spring off, I’m definitely not shimming it.

Looking back at my measurements I gained 2.50” of lift in front and rear.
(2.25” on driver side due to Tundra lean)

These measurements were taken by measuring from center of my wheel hub to the top of the fender.

Let me also be clear that I am running the 2613 Heavy Duty coils. This is what should be ran if you have 200+ lbs on the front of your truck. I have the ARB summit Bumper and a Warn 12k winch, which puts me at 295 lbs per their weight specs. I have have full RCI aluminum skids (engine, trans, tcase) as well as RCI sliders which are 70 lbs each.

I have heard of alot of people gaining more lift than expected and my question is were/are they running the 614 or 613 coils with little or no added weight on the front?

I will also add that I wish I had done the Add A Leaf on the rear dakars from the beginning. It would be nice to have a little rake. The dakar AAL is supposed to add approx 0.6” to ride height. I will probably add these later. it’s $100 for 2 AALs.

Overall the ride has been smooth on road. It does feel a little stiffer than my previous Bilstein 5100 set up. I will report back when I get some off road time soon.

If you are considering this kit i would like this post to lay your worries to rest. If you have a heavy front bumper and winch (especially the same set up as mine) You should definitely get the same amount of lift as I did and if the 1/4”
drive side lean bugs you then can do shims off the rip, but also understand the lean could even out as the springs on the passenger side “wear in.” (Or so I am told)

If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

    Happy wheeling!

Lots of pictures. 33s looking small now. Will upgrade to 35s next year. Also note it is not necessary for this kit, but I am running SPC upper control arms. I did this to achieve the castor adjustability. The shop was able to add castor with the UCAs, which gave me clearance for 35s. I have not done a test fit yet, but I am thinking they will fit with no issue, also with factory wheels +50 offset ;)

95% full lock (didn’t have anyone to hold the steering wheel for me)

MAY have to remove the rear mud flaps for 35x12.50, but that doesn’t bug me.

Do you have the SPC's on there already? If so, didnt their specs say to not exceed 4.0 total caster combined? I may be totally off here.....

truck looks great. I have OME on my 4runner and love it. But with the Tundra, no real offroading for me, so just purchased the Eibach pro truck 2.0 setup, for some height and better on road performance. Would have loved to install OME, but in my case it was not cost effective for my current use. But never know, I may have OME on the Tundra before it is all over.

If the OME Tundra suspension is anything like the OME setups I have run on other vehicles, it is going to perform well and last a really long time. Over 70k miles on the OME 4runner suspension and it still rides and works great! Enjoy your truck.
