Well I got rear ended pretty bad in my 2010 Platinum 4x4 Crewmax, pushed me into another truck (with his tail gait down) and him into another truck. Insurance did not total out the truck so it is on its 9th week in the body shop. I went last week to pick it up, but refused delivery, because all the gaps were off on the front end, see pic. Supposedly they have the gaps corrected now, but they tell me they can't get the gap between the bumper and trim piece much better. For you guys with similar truck it would help me very much if you could give me a measurement, so I have some hard evidence to evaluate the condition of the repair.

Welcome to the forum. Commenting to acknowledge your post. Can't help as I'm a 3rd gen. Plenty of 2s around here. Shouldn't be long.

My opinion the hood needs to be adjusted.. there is a slight gap on either side, but it looks shifted to the driver side, as does the top portion of the bumper.... I'm no body shop expert, but my issue would be with the hood that is making stuff looks shifty....

Welcome from NC! Hopefully you get this issue fixed...I would have refused delivery as well.

The bumper itself has adjustment slots on the mounts inside the aluminum support tube. The painted cover where it meets the lower chrome on the grill is definitely not right. Its hard to tell but I'm wondering if its mounted correctly in the brackets/clips that it slides into. The passenger side is definitely high.

If they can't line up the panels, headlights, or bumper then they didn't get the metal or the frame underneath straight. It's like building a house. If the foundation isn't correct then everything else has to be tweaked to compensate. If too far out then you run out of adjustments. I have to wonder about a bodyshop that tries to pass off less than perfect work. Either they are assuming you do not care or will not notice. It says they do sloppy work to me.

Call your insurance company and meet them out there.

I wouldn't sign off on that either, that's horrible work. When they have it "fixed", don't sign off on it either. Tell them you need to take it to get the work inspected and pay out of pocket to do so.

This front end has absolutely been rebuilt as there's overspray between the lower lip and the chrome bumper in the crevice. The gap between the chrome bumper and painted valance isn't perfectly even from side to side, but I'd say if it's between 1/2" to 3/4" that's fine.

Will they release the vehicle without you signing off?

For an inspection, absolutely. If they don't, I would call the insurance company and let them know what's going on. I bet there's other work that's been done that's less than stellar.
