When I turn on my truck, and then switch the air conditioner on, there’s a real drag on the engine, and then within a matter of seconds, the engine revs back to normal, and the air conditioner button starts blinking. Replaced the relay, hoping that may be of some assistance, but it did nothing, is it time for a new system?

Start by getting the pressures checked. Could be as simple as too much pressure not letting the pump stay turning.
