Can you change this in the settings? My Tacomas did not do this. Whenever i turn the AC on for the first time after starting it goes to recirc. I rarely use recirc.

Does it do this all the time, or just when you have it on the max setting?

May sound silly but make sure your temperature knob isn't turned fully to the "max" setting because that automatically makes it go to recirc. Turn it clockwise just a tad and it should kick off

Ok. Then something may be operating incorrectly on yours. My 2017 only does what you’re describing on the max setting.

Just offering the simplest solution first. Don't know how much general automotive knowledge you have.

Normal, mine does this every time. Nothing you can do but push the button to turn it off.

Maybe a mid year 2017 change since Sunnier has a 2017 that does not do it

I had this originally turned off and didn't realize one could toggle it...I downloaded the free app Car Scanner and it allows it to be an "auto-on" feature or turned off where you must select the climate recirc function yourself...I NOW have it on automatically when I hit AC...bonus feature, you can also toggle off your seat-belt chimes for both driver and passenger seats (and rear if you have them)...I purchased the app for $3.99...a mere drop in the bucket...

So a FREE app cost $3.99?

Simmer down...you can use it freely and cost you nothing but it doesn't unlock "additional features" without purchasing the app...costs less than 2 gallons of fuel...you got this!

Your post is not clear. I dont care about $4. So to clarify. If you want to change settings you pay the $4. If you just want to display stuff it is free?

Thats pretty cool. I wonder if there's an option to turn the seat heaters back to off when i turn the car off. Often my wife has the seat heater on in the passenger seat and it gets left on with noone in it because the tundra never turns it off even after restarting the truck

I have a 2014 and it does this. I did see the setting in Techstream, but forgot to turn it off. It is configurable with other software like Carly too.

No worries and I apologize for not being clear...you're right...and I suppose my wife is also mostly right :p

You an turn off only the driver's seat-belt chime in the free mode as well as view most of the PIDs, however, you get more PIDs released and other options you can toggle with the purchased version...I hope that helps some...

That I don't know. Hot here atm, I've had it of recirc and turned it on and off, but I've never had the fan off auto.

I have tried it but didn't purchase it since I have access to Techstream. It has a lot of settings that can be changed.

What does your A/C controls look like? If you have it on auto it will always default to recirc as that's the fastest easiest way to cool the vehicle.

Also, just out of curiosity why don't you like using the recirc function?

I thought I had mine "trained" to remember that I don't want recirc on but it seems to have "forgotten" and I'm back to hitting the button every time I turn on the A/C for the first time while driving. Doesn't do it if I turn the A/C on and off multiple times in the same trip.

I just prefer fresh air unless i am on a dusty road. Also i have heard of people getting moldy filters in humid conditions when they always run recirc.

Even if you’re not on “max” on the temp dial, it will crank on the recirc to help cool faster. Mine does this when the ambient temp is higher. Simple button click solves it.

I disagree with you...I live in the desert and the ambient temperature is always higher and my '17 will not go on recirc unless I push the button or turn the dial to max

I can definitely see that...I live in the desert so it's always hotter than heck and dusty so recirc is my preference. Luckily no humidity here either
