Ok whats your guys thoughts on the importance of being able to garage your truck?

right now my tundra fits perfectly in my garage,
But i am thinking of going 3/4 ton truck route but the 3/4ton wont fit in my garage. What do you guys think am i treating our minimum $40k trucks like a 911 porsche??

I would if I had the room, but the wife's vehicles and other toys are more important to be inside than the tundra. It's a case by case basis.

It was important to me until we found a house that was perfect other than the garage being a couple inches too short for a halfton. It is a pain in the ass in the winter but every pickup in my neighbourhood is parked on a driveway or on the street.

True. Its the hardest part of wanting to go 3/4 ton, sob wont fit. My rationale is if i can get my dealer asking$46,800 3/4 ton otd for $42-43k otd itll be comprisable.

I am a big believer of keeping it covered. Preferably garaged. So much so I had to slightly mod my garage to fit my current tundra in since it is lifted a bit higher than my previous.

You've touched on a subject that's near and dear to my heart.
We have tiny garages in our neighborhood and my 1Gen Tundra fits in my garage with just a bit of space to spare. I enjoy having a vehicle I'm proud of parked under cover.
However, most folks have their garage space stacked to the rafters with junk they rarely use that's worth a pittance relative to their vehicles.
They have $100K worth of vehicles parked outdoors so they can save their child's crib . . . Well, not on my watch.
To each his own taste but "I can't see it from my house." (it doesn't make sense to me . . . )
    YMMV

It's a pretty nice thing to be able to do. Mine is in the garage right now actually. I generally only park in the garage during winter though as I like to have the garage open for projects and maintenance during the warmer weather. Being inside in winter is fantastic. No scraping windshields or brushing snow off before work.

Gosh its all true, about being able to garage the horse. Ive had my tundra almost 2 years and ive probably washed it less than ten times.

this makes my decision even harder.

My wife whispered to fck it and just be poor, keep tundra and buy the 3/4 ton too! Just two extra days of OT or working/
    Hooking on the streets.

I was able to garage untill I did the the lift and tow mirrors. Now it doesn't sqeeze in.. this has been my first year outside . 1 it never stays clean. 2 it's been attacked by tree sap an I'm having a heck of a time getting it all off. 3 it snows here an now I have to shovel around it move it an scrape it off twice as much... I guess in the end I wish I could still fit it in the garage.

Garage is a must for me. Sun, rain, snow and rodents all take their toll on a vehicle.

Raise that door header up, problem solved!

Not an issue for me. I don't have a garage. The only house in my neighborhood that doesn't have a garage or carport and i had to buy it :annoyed:

Very important. Car break-ins becoming a problem in my neighborhood. Sold my F-150 in part because it was too long, but the Tundra will fit.

It was a requirement in my location, but living where you do...might not necessarily "need" to put truck in garage. When looking at solid home purchase possibilities (realtor had to use tape measure prior to coming), we still took the truck to see if it would fit. This one was 22' deep and would have been a tight fit. My truck is 20' even, 6" behind and 1.5' in front made this a tight fit. This was a no go and a few other things. Didn't want to mow 20 acres.

    6B4603D5-52AA-4806-BAB8-A0C0FAEC8979.jpg

Finally we made the decision to not even look at homes without the minimum 24' deep, 18' wide/8' tall garage door or a shop on the premises.

    DA3A94AD-EFF6-4BBA-9364-E1E09E9C97D1.jpg

We just get to many days like this:

I would like to but my house was built in the mid 2000s when cars were considerably smaller...its a 2 car garage but my wife and I both have trucks. Only one fits. So my tundra gets the driveway. Soon though my wifes will get the boot too because a classic car will be inhabiting our garage.....

    Same here.

I've never had a garage and like other have said above, most of the ones in my neighbourhood are too small and are full of junk with cars in their driveways

Generally my vehicles have always been garaged, but my current home only fits one vehicle well so the wife car goes in there. My tundra sits outside in the dam heat here in phx. It is what it is but hoping here in another year or two we can get out of this valley! And then I will make sure I buy a home with a adequate garage.

Funny you just asked this I just spent 2 hrs rearranging my garage so it would fit both vehicles. It’s called a 2 car garage for a reason.
